Martinsen is the good cop. Ott is definitely one of those bad cops.

If there's any kind of chance to see a Kreider type incident, Clode can unleash hell up front like something the Habs haven't seen in a long time. Marty, Ott, McCarron, King, Shaw.. even Rads can bang the body when he wants to. When was the last time we could dress 6 guys who can hit / play physical? McCarron can learn from those guys as much as Sergachev can learn from Markov and Weber next year.

+ Weber Emelin and Benn.

This team is tough for the first time in what? 20 years?

I'm sure when Julien watched Ott last night...he saw shades of Gregory Campbell

Ott is the type of crazy troll that will do anything and everything to get in our opponent's heads. I'm thinking about:

FYI: Kirk Muller is a major reason why MB traded for Steve Ott.

This article is from yesterday:

During his rookie season, Ott had Kirk Muller as a teammate in Dallas and later Muller was Ott’s assistant coach with the St. Louis Blues. Muller is now the Canadiens’ associate head coach and played a role in convincing Bergevin to acquire Ott.

“It means a lot,†Ott said. “We have a nice bond from our playing days, my first year in the league, to him coaching me in St. Louis and now to here. Kirky’s such a great man. I think everybody knows that in this whole organization and this city. What he means to me as a personal friend, he’s pushed me when I’ve needed it and he’s also been there in rehab skates and at times to kind of pick me up. Overall, he’s just a great man.â€

Props on MB to listening to his staff.

It must be nice to work for a human GM like him.

Despite failing to acquire a major offensive player, MB adapted to the market and on d again, made some nasty trade and we went from a smurf team, to a tough, big and fast team.

All of this while keeping all our prospects and high picks.

Good call. Methinks CJ prefers bigger bangers more than smurfs who might score an occasional goal. I'm glad too.

Thing is, King has more goals then DD and Andrighetto combined, Benn is a clear upgrade on Pateryn. Habs played like a Stanley Cup contender last night!

Last time was probably in the early 90's when Habs had Nilan , McPhee , Corson , Odelein , Roberge , Ludwig , Ewen etc

Those teams were pretty badass

As much as I've hated Ott the last decade, his play yesterday has made me a little more fond of him. It's also nice seeing a centre win draws

Momesso, Kordic :naughty:

Roberge was a nasty piece of businesss
Kordic was gone by the 90s in one of the biggest rip off trades of all time. I'll never forget the day it was made. I have a lot of Leaf friends and I just laughed and laughed...

As long as he is staying away from the penalty bench for taking stupid, brain dead penalties, I will be glad with him.

Totally agree! If he starts playing really dirty then my disdain for him will certainly come back.

This sums up my feelings as well. Hated him also and despite some good plays yesterday, the last 15-20 seconds of the game made me appreciate what our team needed. I just hope he (and Shaw) don't make us bang our heads in close 2-1 PO games.

Yeah the 'chevreuil' Russ Courtnall, a speedy skater that never stops, did not really score before, mis-used and come to Mtl, scored with style and speed. A rip-off, I'm still laughting at this trade.:laugh:

Never underestimate the value of guys with a screw loose on a hockey team. We lost it when Prust got traded also Ryan White, my kind of players. These guys are loved by fellow players, they are essential on good teams. They just have to walk a fine line and try not to fall off.

Yep Therrien never liked White. I know he made dumb plays but that was from trying to make a name for himself. He was just excited to make the NHL finally and wasn't using his brain. He settled down and now looks like a good player for what he brings. We kept trading away any player that had grit and could drive other teams crazy. Therrien was such an idiot and lousy coach. He was only good as long as he has some star player bailing his stupid coaching style for him like Price or Crosby.

How's ott been playing since becoming a canadien?

There is film showing him escorting Rangers Miller off the ice at the conclusion of that game. That 20 seconds was priceless. It was at that moment if I had any doubt about this trade, it went bye bye. I love a guy sticking up for his teammates.
