Trade doesn’t make sense for either team and is somehow bad for both
10/10 good job

Not an accurate comparison, Mailloux missed a lot of games due to covid and suspension. His development was stalled. He has caught up and had a great year in AHL...who is Bustewicz? Time will tell.Mailloux Draft +1 and +2 combined:
71 games, 62 points, +22
Brzustewicz Draft +1:
67 games, 92 points, +31
In their pre draft as prospects you may have been right, but Brzustewicz just had a more impressive season than any of Mailloux’s 3 years since his draft, and appears to have built off it with his extremely strong play this pre-season so far.
The point is OP said Mailloux is better than Brzustewicz, which is pretty baseless. Bruz will be making his AHL debut this season and we will have a much better outlook on how they compare to each other but as it stands right now one is not clearly better than the other. The person you responded to did not say Bruz was better but that numbers in junior definitely favor him.Not an accurate comparison, Mailloux missed a lot of games due to covid and suspension. I completely understood what these posters said and i added some nuance to the straight stat comparison. As i clearly said...time will tell so we are in agreement. The point is OP said Mailloux is better than Brzustewicz, which is pretty baseless. A rebuild is over when the team show you the rebuild is over.Rebuild is over, let's try to upgrade where we can.
Mailloux is a great player but with Reinbacher, Bodgan, Savard and with Anderson we can spare him.
Then #20 2025 + Mesar are what CGY needs for a rebuild.
I would even try to get Kadri in a bigger deal.
MTL : Mailloux + CGY first + Mesar + Dvorak + Pezz
for
CGY : Anderson + Kadri

Hey, give Jarmoe Inigla his proper respect here lolHis name's BOGDAN Konyushkov. I don't want to this to turn into another Tij Ignila situation.
Can Dvorak PK? Any good at it?they wouldn't - and this isn't a deal they're making. If anything, they're looking for more firepower up front and probably trying to dump either Evans or Dvorak if Kaponen keeps playing like he did last night
LOL. Calgary isn't going to accept that lousy package from the Habs for Rasmus Andersson. We are not going to give this package for Andersons.
no thx...that contract won't work on the habs with beck and kapanen coming. Can Dvorak PK? Any good at it?
What would you say to a swap of Dvorak for Ross Colton? Hockey trade.
LOL. Calgary isn't going to accept that lousy package from the Habs for Rasmus Andersson.
I think CGY says no for two reasons:
1. They already have Parekh and Brzustewicz on the right side.
2. They want a blue chip back, not a couple B level prospects.
Too much from Montreal. Mailloux alone is plenty. He's going to be goodMTL : Mailloux + Mesar + CGY first 2025

CGY : R, Anderson
Did you just say Mailloux alone is worth Andersson? LmaoToo much from Montreal. Mailloux alone is plenty. He's going to be good

Basically, he's another Sergechev or McDonoghDid you just say Mailloux alone is worth Andersson? Lmao
Delusional. Mailloux is entering his D+4 season and has a total of 1 NHL game played. He's not even expected to make the NHL this season on one of the weakest blue lines in the league.Basically, he's another Sergechev or McDonogh
Mailloux missed ton of time to suspend and COVID. Not interested moving Mailloux. He could be homerun. Great shot, size, Mobil.Delusional. By the start of Sergachev's D+4 season he had already played 158 NHL games with 72 points, and was averaging 18 minutes a night.
Mailloux's rookie season in the AHL was barely better than Poirier's. Would you do even trade Matheson for Poirier?
That's totally fine that you like him and don't want to move him but hoping he will be a home run and expecting him to be a 1st pairing guy that will put up 50+ points are two entirely different things.Mailloux missed ton of time to suspend and COVID. I'm high on Hunter Brzustewicz but I don't expect him to be as good as Sergachev. Could he? Sure but definitely not guaranteed.
Great, I'm glad we cleared that up instead of your outrageous claim earlier. For the record I don't think it would be wise for Montreal to pursue Andersson anyways. The majority of his value comes in his cheap contract and Montreal is no where near cap strapped. They also won't be contending in the next 2 seasons before he would need a raise. Not interested in moving Mailloux.
Trading young D with huge upside rarely work out for the good.Great, I'm glad we cleared that up instead of your outrageous claim earlier. Circumstantial. It also depends on how high that upside is vs how close that team is to competing. For example the list of players Alexander Nikishin would be available for probably doesn't go far past Celebrini, regardless of how close they are. Whereas someone like Tom Willander in Vancouver, or Tanner Molendyk in Nashville could absolutely be made available for a player that puts their roster over the top.Trading young D with huge upside rarely work out for the good.
Mailloux have double trade value in 3 years. Foolish to trade him now on ELC.Circumstantial. It also depends on how high that upside is vs how close that team is to competing. Defense generally don't peak until their mid 20's so if your window is now it would be foolish to make an under 21 defenseman that isn't considered top 10 in the league off limits. Montreal's window obviously isn't now so the logic in trading someone like Mailloux is pretty low
