If the governor of NY says a construction project can be completed in "as little as three years" be prepared to wait at least ten.
LOLOh Hochul, can we start smaller. Like renaming Cuomo bridge back to the Tappen Zee
This does seem to have far more credibility than other movement reports in the past, though since there seems to be agreement with a number of folks involved.Wake me up when they actually break ground.

Its one of those things where if everything goes right this is amazing. But it won't imo.
-need some sort of transportation
-will they get the starchitect they want? Also pick the best person for the job. Who cares about ties to NY?
-able to stay on budget
-able to stay on time
Yea they should probably start looking into 8G internet technology for the new arena. And if its supposed to cost 800 million expect it to cost 2 billion.
You know this will never happen. They’ll probably going the nepotism route or person who pumps up her reputation best.
Anybody who lives in NYC or is intimately knowledgeable about NYC logistics care to comment.......
How exactly would you get from Penn / Grand Central Station to the proposed new arena location? I would have to assume it would be a complete shit show and nothing short of a major inconvenience for anybody who take a train into NYC correct?
Honestly, barring new subway lines, putting an arena in that area of Hell's Kitchen would be a nightmare commute. It's at least a 15-20 minute walk from the nearest subway station (either Columbus Circle or 50th and 8th), and the closest mass transit hub is Port Authority at 41st and 8th. There's just no easy way to get there right now.Anybody who lives in NYC or is intimately knowledgeable about NYC logistics care to comment.......

Honestly it'd be quickest to walk imo. Crosstown buses are atrocious.

Sources say that Dolan is “generally onboard” with Hochul’s proposal, but is concerned that the Dewitt Clinton Park site is located a full four city blocks from the nearest subway station at Times Square. He thinks the obstacle could most easily be resolved by constructing a 1.5-mile light rail train on 53rd Street, from Dewitt Clinton Park to Second Avenue. That at-grade light rail would transport riders from the arena site to subway stations across Midtown and would cost between $300 million and $400 million.
I can't stop laughing at this quote from the article: "The new arena is expected to be a super-modern, super-comfortable venue in a corner of Manhattan that is very centrally located but doesn’t feel as hyper-congested and gritty as the 33rd Street location," an official with Empire State Development explains.Yea, thats what i thought. By my quick math, it looks like 4 blocks west and about 20 blocks north..............yea, thats convenient for almost............ nobody.
Great plan. I'd expect nothing less from the stellar leadership group in the great state of New York.
Bravo, bravo.
