you dont see part about forget the goal and net for second. that is fundamental bad defence for rielly and sandin. rielly even worse than sandin there floating and letting puck go through legs

main thing is you can make list of fundamental bad defensive plays for more than half the goals since january if you dont like this video then go look more. i choose this one by random choice because it was on home page youtube. I click on it, said let me see if only mrazek playing bad here, and nope, rielly and sandin also very bad.

Simple stuff..
That's so dumb, you're either a troll or have no idea what you're seeing when you watch a hockey game.

Rielly is trying to deny the pass, he isn't parascoping out to block the shot because it's not a dangerous shooting area. Playing to block the shot there opens up passing lanes that are far more dangerous than a wrist shot from the corner. You can't reasonably expect a defending team to deny any and all shot attempts regardless of where they are coming from.

What's next, he lets in a shot from centre ice and you're going to talk about how the defense is terrible because no one dove in front of it for the shot block?

How Rielly played that is bad defence. Looking like an imbecile calling people troll because you dont like opinion, doesn't make you right.

The main theme is Andersen is equipped to make the save better when our D make bad choices. Our current guys cannot. They need flawless play. So choosing Campbell over Fred was always stupid choice if not going to fix what the blueline is not good in. If you know the blueline you going into season with, should have stick with Fred.

It's really simple stuff.

Like I say, if you don't like that goal as example, I picked it by random, theres more for you lazy ass to go look at, troll.

I fully agree with this except the JT part. I think he needs to go, straight up!

Matthews is the Captain and leader of this team. I think a rebuild is coming.
AM34 will not stay in TO for a rebuild! Muzzin/Kerfoot/Mrazek will be moved most likely Willy if we shit the bed again to free up cap space and upgrade as needed.
Mo/JT/Mitch/AM34 are here until they want to leave

Yeah...sure it is! This fanbase FFS...

Haha, that escalated quickly.

I mean it's not, the Sandin reverse to no one is a bad play, Rielly does exactly like he should and Mrazek lets in an inexcusably bad goal.

There are lots of examples of bad defense for sure, in fact I would completely agree that our defensive play is worse than the numbers suggest and we give up too many easy chances against but.. 'picking a play at random', a plays that's not actually bad, to try and prove your point is an interesting choice.

I agree except JT came back here on a deal with less AAV to retire a Leaf .. even after Shanny is gone I think org will still have to honor that deal .. they even discussed with him at some point moving to LW .. it would likely be in teams best interest at this point to move on but i will be shocked if it happens .. jt and family have a nice setup in high park and own a ton of real estate around city

Yes, Tavares wanted to be home in Toronto. 4 more years on that contract still. T.O is stuck with it. No way Dubas will ask him to waive.

Actually there’s 3 after this season. We’re now more than halfway through the deal.

Funny enough I think Mrazek could have been a good fit for the Babcock Leafs, I trust him to deal with constant breakaways more than I trust him to deal with us funneling point shots at him.

Good, it will be nice to get that boat anchor off the books.
Boat anchor who’s over 60% in the face off dot and has put up 57 points in 59 games which is a .98ppg (79 over 82 games) while having the toughest stretch of his leaf career? He’s literally producing at prime leaf sundin numbers and some of you want to run him out of town.

I did not realize JT was at a PPG this season. He is doing it Quietly playing the worst hockey of his career.

So if his floor is a defensively responsible (can’t say elite as his foot speed negates that possibility imo) ppg C I’m willing to ride out the bad. Keep in mind there’s been unconfirmed reports that he of all guys had the Covid situation hit him the hardest and has the hardest time getting back into peak shape since.

Makes sense. Do you think after his contract expires in 3 seasons, the Leafs will re-sign him? Or do they just let him walk.

Depends how he’s regressed, I think he stays it’s just a matter of what the cap hit will be. They won’t be able to afford $11m for a 60pt player, but if the team hasn’t flat lined and it makes sense having what the player he has evolved into around im sure he stays. Maybe like 3-4m on a 2-3 year deal before heading into Spezza minimum territory, who knows?

At $3M for a few years he can stay.

My reporting on Hockey Night in Canada - The Toronto Maple Leafs have not initiated talks with other teams about Petr Mrazek but teams have called about him. There is a market there. All goalie decisions for Kyle Dubas, however are summer decisions.

lol poor Jeff trying to do a solid for a fellow company employee to deflect away from a brutal signing and then he looks like an idiot for making up this bs after Pistol Pete goes unclaimed
