Mrazek Discussion

And even Keefe Dubas Shanny are starting to show it.

They all know a “reaction cam” is on them at all times.

and last night the heads jerking back in disgust were pretty pronounced. You avoid doing that to hide your true feelings, but it’s not always possible when you are really maddened.

There is nowhere to go but up from here, because oh my goodness Mrazek has been putrid. He's been a stable veteran goalie, if not a solidly mediocre 1B in the league for close to a decade. Hard to believe that he's just completely forgotten how to play hockey, but it's even harder to believe that an NHL goalie would be letting in the stuff he has been.

Almost his entire career he's been exactly the player that we need right now. Instead he's channeling Sparks and Hutchinson. Organization needs to take a long hard look at goaltending, because it's been getting worse for a few years now. We shouldn't need a goalie whisperer, but we've seen a lot of perfectly good goalies forget how to play. The defense isn't amazing, but I watched Freddy stand on his head behind Rielly-Hainsey Zaitsev-Gardiner for two years. The team's woes right now are first and foremost a goaltending problem.

wtf how is Mrazek so bad?
his career numbers have Never looked this bad.
what gives?
I feel like we are going to pay to dump him and then he's going to play how we expected him to

I felt it strong when he left the Hurricanes that he would be a leaky goalie with his spiderman saves that gets out of position very easy and let in soft goals,I wrote that he would look small in net in Toronto he looked big in Carlolina behind a excellent defence core,he had a good stretch in Carolina but he has really never been that good before in my opinion.

Leaf should trade now to gain information next season.

If Mrazek is fine somewhere else, then in off season need to really sit and look into why this happening here. Either coach or fundamental defensive issue the natural stat trick website cant see.



Sandin rielly just as bad as mrazek. what is sandin doing, and why rielly floating to shooter with legs wide open acting like prop for shooter, instead of using stick to knock puck away or deflect shot away or press up and stick check?

Change goalie and this still bad fundamental defence. Only pass lane to slot already covered by matthews. rielly supposed to charge the shooter and actively use stick/body. Very embarassing for rielly to allow puck between legs.

You can make similar analysis on most goal. Dont worry about mrazek/campbell, look at D and you can make whole list of fundamental mistakes. This is fact. Stop use emotion.
 
At the end of the day, we should have kept Andersen. There was no good reason to switch from Andersen to Mrazek other than if Dubas thought saving the 1 million in cap space was worth it.

It wasn't.

Obviously Andersen + Campbell for this year's Leafs would have been amazing.

That goal is on Mrazek.
100%.

This is the worst example of a goal exposing the Leafs' weak D.

This is Mrazek letting in a goal that should never go in.

Mike McKenna gave his analysis of Mrazek on Kyper show. I found it interesting. You can form your own opinion. Don't bother if you don't think much of McKenna.

Andersen is true no.1 goalie so can support these fundamental flawed Leafs that dont play body and always give up puck. Leaf lose to caps because marincin can't tie up man in crease. 2022 Leaf still have same problem + couple more. Why 6 year pass and still same issue?

Mrazek and campbell not true no.1 they has no business on this team. Seem dubas get too cocky after north performance which is weird since he choke 3-1 lead as ending. Andersen was always correct play if not fixing fundamental problems.

you dont see part about forget the goal and net for second. that is fundamental bad defence for rielly and sandin. rielly even worse than sandin there floating and letting puck go through legs

main thing is you can make list of fundamental bad defensive plays for more than half the goals since january if you dont like this video then go look more. i choose this one by random choice because it was on home page youtube. I click on it, said let me see if only mrazek playing bad here, and nope, rielly and sandin also very bad.

Simple stuff..

For me right now with hindsight of course, Dubas is just like other GM's we had, they suck as evaluating goalies... :(
 
Hopefully we seen the last of Mrazek as a leaf.

Can't remember ever seeing a goalie give up 3+ soft goals on every single game. Toskala was better
