It's times like this I like to remember that this is a sport, that we watch for entertainment.

To paraphrase Elsa - let (your anger) gooooooooooooooooo if you're having a hard time with the suspension.

Ya.. Perron intended to cross check a guy out of retaliation and so did Reilly. Not sure I understand the difference here
Perron and Reillys cross checks are entirely different. Perrin saw his captain who has a history of neck injuries lifeless on the ice and Reilly saw someone put a puck into his net too hard.

Just bc both these incidents happened this year doesn't make them comparable. They aren't.

He was chased down from the blindside from behind and only saw Reilly at the last moment. There was no pre-warning. And Reilly was skating with speed adding force the cross check. The Chiasson cross check is not the same.
There was a pre warning when he shot the puck.

Why do you think we don't see snapshots into empty nets?

How many of Ovechkins ENG are with a slapshot? He is deadly accurate.

Do you believe Greig thought he was just going to skate off?

Just watched the DOPS video explainer. I swear they stole their content from all my posts on the subject. It adequately explains away all the false equivalency cross checks used to defend Reilly.
That didn’t at all explain away why others received zero games from a safety perspective. It literally leads you to believe you are free to cross check to the head if “jousting”. The conclusion from this is that the league does not care about player safety, they care about optics.

Don’t attack the source. Attack the argument. Nothing I’ve said on this incident can’t be backed up with reasoning, examples, and now the official explanation by the NHL. Most hockey analysts would agree with my take. I don’t think any analysts would agree that Morgan got too harsh a punishment here. I’ve seen zero reasoning to support that, that makes any rational sense.

What are your examples for arrests for crosschecks?

Tons of analysts have said 5 games is excessive. What are you talking about. Are you just making stuff up? Bieksa said 2-3.

So you are saying Perron was justified in going after and Reilly was not ?

you are describing why those players saw red and did what they did. Those reasons are irrelevant.

They crossed a line and got what they deserved.

That wasn’t a pre warning for a cross check to the face. That was a pre warning for some sort of response though. A normal team that wasn’t soft and in need of “proving” something, would have tracked him down and asked him to answer the bell. The correct response.

Rielly's suspension should have been for more games. I would have given him 10 games.

To anyone thinking "Greig showed poor sportsmanship", I am here to tell you that it actually doesn't matter what Greig did.

Greig did something that hurt no one, except maybe some players feelings and fans feelings.

What Greig did is really no different than a player who enthusiastically celebrates a goal.

Does every player who celebrates a goal deserve a cross-check to the head?

Think about this objectively, leaving feelings out of it, and you can see that Rielly deserved a very long suspension.

There hasn’t been a single player that hasn’t agreed with what Rielly did. Numerous examples have been shown to you. The data shows how Parros deals with suspensions when the leafs are involved.

You chose to ignore it
