Anyone thinking he would come to the NHL is crazy, not to mention Jake Gardiners agents head would explode. I wouldnt expect any #FreeRielly tweets from Riellys agent.

He will get some pro experience and then probably be back to his home team again next season. No rush here.

I think Rielly could make the team next year. If not yeah why not dominate the dub again lol

I wish Moose Jaw would trade him to a decent team (next season). Sucks that he wont get to compete for a Memorial Cup

Eh, I don't mind him on Moose Jaw. Sure, his numbers aren't as huge as they'd be on a team like Portland (read: massive), but he's devouring ice time and involved in 40% of his teams goals for, not to mention he gets PK time to.

I think being the without-a-doubt go to guy is better for his development than probably winning CHL Defensemen of the Year like he would on Portland*

I dont get the sarcasm?

Jones will likely be a candidate despite the fact that he only had the same number of points in the same number of games as Rielly even though he has been on a powerhouse where he is the number 2 offensive D. Rielly falls behind only Kichton and Rutkowski in the WHL is terms of ppg (only dietz too if you add total points but he has 12 more GP) both 5th year players, one of which plays on a team with the 3 leading scorers in the league. Rielly has been phenomenal, if only he was on a better team hed be by far the best D in the league and potential CHL defenseman of the year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rielly's in the WHL next season. Depends on how Rielly performs in camp/preseason, he certainly has the skillset to make it as a top 4 dman right away.

They're holding on to the hope that Rielly plays in the WHL next season.

“Morgan is 18 years old. In some of those other 19-year-old situations it was 100 per cent that the player was not going to come back,†said Millar. “Do we anticipate that Morgan has a very good chance to play in Toronto next year? Yes. Can we ever say for sure that he’s going to? No.

I really hope Rielly actually plays. Percy went to the Marlies and only played 3 games during their whole playoff run last season. I know they are different players and that Rielly is better than Percy, but still, I could picture Eakins limiting Rielly.

Eakins doesn't give ice time you earn it with him a key development tool to why he's been successful developing players. Rielly will get a look based on the merit of how talented he is but it will be entirely up to Rielly in how he plays if Eakins limits him or not.

Really a shame Rielly can't be in the AHL next season. We'll see how he fares with the Marlies soon...but right now my feeling is that he's too good for the WHL next season, but I still think he needs seasoning (defensively) before he's ready for the big show...I'll admit my opinion is heavily influenced on him missing almost a full year of development.

I think he will make the leafs next year.. But if he doesnt he will destroy the WHL, regardless of his team. One more year in the dub wont hurt him, he will gain a ton of confidence. If he makes the team and is good enough, then hes ready for the NHL, if he doesnt make the team, then the development wont hurt him it will just give him confidence. Either way doesnt change him just changes the leafs and whether or not they have an offensive catalyst on the backend.

Rielly accomplished the most important thing for him this year, he stayed healthy and he played a lot of games. Really important for his development after only 18 games last year. I already consider his year a success, maybe he can make it even better.

If Reilly is attending the Marlies does this mean Gardiner will get the call now?

Would be nice to see them together for one game.

But I'd be happier if Gards was called up. We've plummeted in the standings these last couple weeks...

Can't wait to see what Rielly can do in the AHL.

Does anybody know if we use up a year of his contract if he plays in the AHL after his CHL season is over?

I think Rielly is clearly a tier above Percy/Blacker and will have to get treated differently. I also believe the club will want to push him as much as possible if he isn't overwhelmed, esp if Gardiner is brought up to create an opening. Can't wait to see how he looks.

We need to have all hands on deck. Having Gardiner down there and then having Gunnarsson and Holzer up here with Liles' blueline puck skills killing our offensive pressure requires a major adjustment.

I think they need to just evaluate Rielly honestly and put him in the NHL if it makes sense and not hold him back. There's got to be room for exceptional talent if the play is deserving of exceptional treatment.

Rielly should be on the team next year.

He doesn't really have anything left to learn in the WHL that he couldn't learn playing sheltered minutes in Toronto. However would I be upset if he went back to Moose Jaw? No. But I prefer him here.

Rielly-Franson would be a nice pairing. Gardiner-Fraser and then Phaneuf with either a better RD that we get through FA/trade or Liles?

Rielly going back to junior next year would be disastrous for his development.

It will be interesting to see where Rielly fits in at the ahl level. His skill level will stand out for sure. I would like to know what Eakins thinks of his overall game at that level. Should be a good indication of whether or not he'll be considered for a spot next year

But, but we were 7th for like a day!

I don't know much about our prospects, so I just hope that the team does the best for this player. :)
