What do you think of Morgan Reilly? Do you think he is a Matt Cooke type player?

Go from there. He's not going to pretend/for real try to slice Karlssons achilles.

We'll see what happens. I'd love predictions on the suspension and what Leafs haters think is appropriate here.
No, I think of him as a player who crosschecked someone in the head. I’m asking what you think appropriate reaction from the Sens should be the next tome they play. Apparently the punishment should be 100x worse than the action itself.

No argument here- it was a vicious cross check that will get him suspended

But the way that Greig scored that empty netter would have gotten him a fist to the mouth from 30 other teams, including Tampa. Lightening fans would be the first to mock Greig. So cut the BS
Then Reilly should have dropped the gloves instead of crosschecking him in the head.

That or don't let them score.

Sure, watch it for yourself. It clearly makes contact with the shoulder prior to the head.

He aimed high enough to reasonably expect to hit the head, which is exactly what ended up happening. Grazing a shoulder patch in this case is about as relevant as a psycho claiming they meant to stab the t-shirt, and not the man wearing it underneath.

Well, he likely hits him a little further down, but due to the speed and the camera angle that's the best reference point. But if we're talking point of contact, it did at least glance off the shoulder, which means he probably misjudged it and hit him higher than he intended.
I dunno, the side angle doesn't exactly scream trying to hit shoulder and thats it. Imo the intentions pretty clear.

The primary point was not the head though.

Whether he can reasonably conclude he would hit is head is up to debate. Rielly can clearly argue (and I'm sure will) that he hit his shoulder and Greig raised his arm up causing the stick to ride up to his head.

Yeah, because Morgan is clearly a historically dirtier player, right? It's not like he was in the running for the Lady Byng prior to this incident.

Oh, wait...

Rielly will be suspended, sure, but how about the Ottawa player not act like an arsole by having his own hardest shot competition?
Do you know what gets said between the players during the course of a hockey game? Do you know why announcers between the benches mute their headsets from time to time?

Holy shit. People are getting emo over a guy scoring an empty net goal which is part of his job.

is it any different than a player show boating after they score? does poor sportsmanship somehow absolve Rielly of his actions?
people keep clamoring on about not showboating this dont slapshot that. how about dont cross check players in the head ffs.

This is the NHL where players get jumped for clean hits.

The argument of whether it's legal or not is entirely different than how players react to things whether they're legal or not.

No, like I said Reilly over reacted. It is not against the rules to be a jerk- Carolina embrassed the term, but you will often draw a reaction if you are one.

So because its the NHL its alright? Players need to keep their emotions in check full stop.

This argument whether Reilly “accidentally“ checked his head isn‘t important once you factor in that Reilly’s cross check happened long after the whistle was blown and wasn’t a hockey play.
