Suck it up, Leafs haters! This is the kind of team-first take-no-bullshit turning point that's going going to turn the team's season around. Rielly just gave the Leafs a rallying cry, they're now going to discover their esprit du corps and move past having the league's worst defense, zero depth and garbage goaltending to becoming the #1 Cup contender!

A rallying cry by hitting an unsuspecting player in the head after a goal was scored?

This is what some Leaf fans are calling a moral victory?

Shades of this:

Right, but it wasn’t to a star player on the brightest stage leading to a clear diagnosable injury, so.. 2 games at most?

Not saying that’s right, just my prediction based off whatever I think is left of Parros’ brain.

It's not, because it's the Leafs. He'll get 5-6 games.
Not even sure what this means. But either way, you posting clips of players that got 17+ game suspensions implies that you think this was as bad, which yes, is hilarious.

That would be nice. I doubt it but nice sentiment though.

Mike Hoffman got 2 games for cross-checking Logan Couture in the back that rode up to his head.

I dont agree with your assertion that a crosscheck to the shoulder is never a suspension. Unless you mean that a crosscheck to the shoulder that only connects with the shoulder is not a suspension, which is not what this was.

That's fair. I would argue that's from behind which makes it worse.

I think he could get suspended - but does that clip not prove that the head not being the principle point results in less games? Perron got 6 games for his crosscheck to the head earlier this season.

for me, I respect the emotion from Mo. but it wasn’t a good result hitting a guy in the head , at all. I understand the “cry baby” comments, but I also get the response to a player showboating. (Not hitting to the head, maybe a face-wash /scrum - that’s it)

good thing for them Grieger took that slapper ......leafs might have went 8 more years without the " rallying cry" 🤣

The DeShaun Jackson punt return probably isn't the best comparison because:
a) That was a go-ahead TD that ultimately won the game. The Eagles weren't leading before that.
b) The running across the line was him making sure no time was left. There was a point to doing it.

A better football comparison would be having a lead, ball at the opponent's 20, with 5 seconds left, and the other team has no timeouts. A situation where you would kneel down and end the game. Now imagine if you instead fake kneel and then uncork a TD pass. That would probably be equivalent to what he did. That would definitely raise quite a few eyebrows at any level of football.
The hockey equivalent of kneeling to end the game is literally scoring the empty net goal. Always has been.

One or the dirtiest plays I have ever seem. Clearly a total non hockey attempt to insure play. You can't prove me wrong, for what other purpose was reillys actions?
You have been proven wrong throughout the thread.
