Is Salminen headed to the ECHL?
I think they are just trying to get him to reset.

He played an excellent 40 minutes against making 21 saves on 21 shots including this beauty nine days ago when they faced Grand Rapids. But then they beat him on their first shot of 3rd period (although I believe it was deflected). Then scored a poor goal on him six shots later. They tied the game on a 6 on 5. And then 30 seconds later, with 12 seconds left in the game, they lost on this one.

Part of it was the team played poorly in front of him but the Moose goalies have not been the source of strength I thought they would be at the start of the season.

Moose get one early, Lambert from Chibrikov and Capo.

And another one, not sure if it was Barteaux or Ford but 2-0 3 minutes in. Capo with another assist.

Man Chibrikov has some silky mitts in tight spaces. Reminds me of when Burmi would look like he didn't have any options along the boards then he'd just make a little move and suddenly be all alone with the puck.

Lambert just took a dirty shot to the head at the end of the 1st. No penalty, hopefully he's back out for the 2nd.

4-1 in the 3rd, Barteaux gets his second goal, assisted by Chibrikov, Malott may get the secondary assist but not sure yet.

@ICdave how long is Kuzmin out for? I noticed him hanging out in the back when all the players were getting kicked out a couple games ago

Milic has been really good. He moves from side to side so quickly without losing his position. There were times on the penalty kill where Rockford made a cross zone pass and couldn't even get a quality chance because Milic was already perfectly squared up.

Yep that lateral agility and anticipation/ puck tracking ability is what I recall from watching him last year. He was very quick and aggressive with V good decision making I thought. I get the size thing but we have seen some smaller tenders do well of late.

Guys seem to be targeting Lambert with dirty hits. He's having a heck of a season.

Happens all the time to skilled prospects and players in that league. Cant tell you how many bad headshots and hits ive seen over the years from AHL goon bums who cant and dont do shit else on the ice.

Trying to get an update on Kuzmin. I think he's just a healthy scratch.

Some All-Star news:

Huh, I assumed it was an injury because I figured he'd just be sent back down to the ECHL if he was healthy. I also thought he was coming along pretty well after having a really rough start.

Only saw the 3rd and honestly didn't pay a ton of attention, but Lambert had some egregious unforced errors, one of which resulted in a short handed goal against.

Moose got off to a great start in the first outshooting the Admirals 12-5 which is impressive given the Admirals came into the game having won 11 straight.

But then things began to change after this play

And in the blink of an eye (or 5 minutes and 30 ish seconds) a 2-0 Moose lead is now 3-2 Admirals ahead after the visitors give up three straight goals on seven shots in the middle frame.

30 minutes into the game the Moose had a 2-0 lead (courtesy of two shorthanded goals in 32 seconds) and were outshooting the Admirals 20-10.

But then Milwaukee scored five goals on next nine shots to make it 5-2.

Manitoba win streak ends. Milwaukee wins 12th straight.

Moose pick up fourth win in five games on this road trip and, despite losing 11 straight (0-10-1), are just four back of a playoff spot heading into the All-Star break:

That should read goals 24 seconds apart on Saturday night.

Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic is 4-2-0 with a .905 save % and & a 2.55 GAA. He had three of their four wins during trip.

Most of the Moose have a few days off for the AHL All-Star break which takes place tomorrow and Monday in San Jose. Jets prospect Brad Lambert and Kyle Capobianco will be heading there to represent Manitoba.

Back in action on Feb 9th starting in Grand Rapids.

Turning it around and the difference is ................... Milic!
