Moose Season Discussion

Where’s Berdin when you need him? He’s still under contract.

Manitoba down 1-0 real quick. Milwaukee got some solid recruits from Nashville.

And now 3-0 real quick.

Hey kids! Do you want see a replay of last night’s Jets-VGK game, but AHL-style? Looks like the Moose have no pushback either.

Mark Morrison ought to pull a Bones at this rate.

The Moose are a club that has featured some strong individual performances. But strong team performances like winning streaks, playoff runs, etc. have been in extremely short supply ever since the Moose came back to Winnipeg. Not entirely unlike the parent franchise in some respects. I'm starting to think this is embedded in the organization's DNA.

Seems to me the Admirals lineup is the same as the Predators lineup that was so competitive since the trade deadline. Too bad the moose can’t bring down some Jets players. Might be a tough climb to win this series.

A goalie will help.

The club is purely developmental now. Back when it was the only team is town (Moose 1.0, IceCaps), the team would add franchise players to actually be competitive and sell seats.

It's amazing how quickly moods change from game to game. Moose are competitive right now. One game where they had to play their 3rd string goalie and then throw in their cold starter that came in from Vegas doesn't change that. They were the better team against Milwaukee and hopefully they have better luck today. They have one of the top scoring forwards, great forward depth, the top goal scoring defensemen, 3 all Star defensemen. The main weakness is in net. Salminen hasn't been good and Holm is inconsistent, but overall it's a very strong team.

Anybody know if Fjallby has been sent down yet?

EDIT: Nope.

EDIT2: Upon further review, the forward depth isn't as good as I remembered. Fjallby would help the team out a lot, Zhilkin and Chibrikov might be better options than some of what they're playing in the bottom 6. Otherwise the team is leaning heavily on their first line and Limoges for any kind of offence from their forwards.

Moose looking good through 2, tied 1-1. Askarov is a weird goalie. You feel like the Hasek style won't translate to the top level but time will tell.

I really hope there are moves to make room for Chisholm and Heinola next season.

Salminen standing on his head in the 3rd.

Jones is having a game. Gawanke and Lundmark have had some pretty awful defensive zone gaffes.

Bad pinch by Gawanke makes it 2-1.

How Harkins look? I was very impressed couple weeks ago. Probably deserves to be up here with his effort over some others.
He looked good, took over the overtime shift. Set up Toninato with a back door tap in that was blocked, muscled the puck back, got it to Chisholm who took the shot, picked up the rebound for the goal. Yeah I don't really understand the logic of playing Stenlund or Kuhlman over him. Even when he's being frustrating he's still a better player than either, and then when he's on it's not even close.

I didn't but we noticed it in the pressbox for sure. Was a very soccer type move by him. If you remember when it happened I can see if I can find it.
I'm pretty sure it was in the 2nd but I can't narrow it down more than that and it probably isn't special enough to go looking for. Clever little play though.
