39 years old ... pretty impressive.

Prime telecast tonight "This is such a good game" It was 0-0 at the time and two teams trying to constrict each other. Then the Habs scored one deflection goal in late 2nd period to win the game....0 or 2 on Amazon Prime. Correct me if Im wrong, but didn't we face New Jersey and lost 3-0 as well? Lol you can't make this sht up. Zero goals in 120 minutes of ice time broadcasted by Amazon. If we get shut out again next Amazon game, I think we all need to get together, in a chanting cult like circle to alleviate the curse
Poor Calvin, the team keeps letting him down
Holland wasn’t great, and people whined about his cap management, but JJ blew it all on day 1 of free agency. I don’t care much about the guys that went out but maybe keeping 1 or 2 for some more roster cohesion would have made sense
Good points. And MTL got him off waivers with FLA waiving him. We would not even try that b/c even when the eye test and numbers show bad goaltending, this org gets tunnel vision and lock that position/guy in. End of story. No reason to try to tinker with it. They do that for everything. You can basically 95% retire here if you sign a contract
Sometimes it just doesn’t work out as planned.Oh I’ve been saying that since day 1 of the nonstop complaining
But when he made the signings and was up against the cap with players to re-sign, something had to give
A lot of people shit on Bowman for “not doing anything”, but I imagine his hands are tied to some degree. The Bowman I know from the Hawks would have, rightly or wrongly, made a real move by now (not just an AHL player swap)
Hopefully that’s the only thing you’d be cracking.
they always play up to the good opponents and play down to the supposed "garbage" onesThis is a piss easy schedule too and we're losing to the Blackhawks, the Jackets, the Canadiens....
I’m leaning towards poor coaching being a big factor in both cases.Good points.
Why can't the Oilers scouting staff spot a decent goalie on waivers? Other teams seem to do it.
It's the same as the Elkimos and kick returners. Other teams find them.

Once upon a time Colorado signed both Kariya and Selanne, which was supposed to be as sure of a thing as you could get, and it went downhill quickly.
They're not beating the good teams either though. 1/3 of our wins came against the last place Predators. Big whoop.they always play up to the good opponents and play down to the supposed "garbage" ones
Schustin Dwartz.Good points.

Montemblaut played us twice last season and was great in both of them. He's been great everytime he's faced us. This wasn't a one off.To be fair which goalie hasn't looked terrific against this year? Saros? Vladar? Lankinen?
Either way we missed the bus on acquiring a starting goalie. I'm not entirely sure where we go for a solution either.
MTL, OTT both are pretty happy with their goaltending so they're not moving anyone.
Our only real options are with rebuilding teams so that limits us to the likes of Anaheim, Utah, Chicago, San Jose, Nashville, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Columbus.
Of which, I think only CHI, SJS, PHL, and CBJ are willing to trade a goalie right now. But that being said it's far too early for a trade like that to occur. Most of those teams, even as rebuilders, are close to .500 plus absolutely nobody is gonna do us a favour.
With that in mind, the first thing I'd do if I'm the (lack of) braintrust of Bowman/Jackson is I'd fire Schwartz with immediate effect. Bring in whatever goalie coach you can find and maybe even a few of them to do an audit of what's wrong with Skinner. Meanwhile you just gotta run with Pickard until either Skinner figures it out or we find a trade.
That's because he is one of the rare guys with a nutsack and loves driving the net lol and creating chaos. He could try to control it though. Plays a lil reckless. He has heart/fire though. Can't say that for a lot of this rosterShake it up at this point who even cares try something different
Skinner McDavid Podkolzin
RNH Draisiatl Hyman
We really could use Arvidsson back, he hasn't been hot this year either, but it feels like the chances generated go down with him out.

People talk like these things are unwaiveable.
I don’t think he’d mind it in Seattle for example.
To be fair, most were happy with McLeod and Ceci being traded.Like I said in another post, some are overrating the guys that left due to heaters they’ve been on, but maybe keeping one or two of them and holding off on blowing the wad on newcomers might have been a better idea.
Do you really trust Bowman to find a good coach? I'm not sure he's found his way out of the paper bag on his head.Well if Knob is trying to get himself fired, that would certainly be one way to do it.
Eh he might. It’s close to original home and his buddy Ebs is there. He wouldn't waive for Seattle.
J. Skinner looks like a complete bust?Like I said in another post, some are overrating the guys that left due to heaters they’ve been on, but maybe keeping one or two of them and holding off on blowing the wad on newcomers might have been a better idea.

The offer sheets sure, but that kind of dual blow was pretty much unforseeable.
So we will be ok.First 19 games.
24-25 Oilers: 9-8-2
23-24 Oilers: 6-12-1
22-23 Oilers: 10-9-0
Same shit, different piles.
