Hyman, Nuge, (not sure who else is on your list are established on a team, they have earned trust, they have earned faith. J Skinner is the new guy on a team that was tossed out and lol bought out by his past team and is SUPPOSED to be making an impression here. Theres a difference. J Skinner hasn't earned on ounce of faith and trust here and his play isn't garnering any.
I'm sure other teams coaches who have scouted the Oilers PP are loving RNH too. Keep doing the same shit bozos.
Teams know the play is either McDavid cross seam to Draisaitl, which if he makes it with a top end shot, you live with that, and the other play is McDavid to Hyman tap in, and they are shutting that Hyman shit down and letting RNH do his ice capades dance on the perimeter all the PP long.
He ain't beating you on a PP, let him do whatever.

I think those are better ideas. I could see doing that. But so could KK. He did move Perry up with Drai and he's been better there than skinner has looked in topsix. Don't mind trying it. Something is off with Hyman this year.

You're describing water being wet. Massive success can have its drawbacks. One of those is every team in the league scouting our scoring, our PP. It was always going to be more difficult this season. Just what it is. I guess you can blame the natural order of things on McDrai or Nuge or Hyman or KK or whoever. We weren't going to be getting any easy looks this season.
To the credit the coaching staff gave us a legend level PP for years running. But in this area its what have you done for us lately. I don't blame any of the above for whats going on. I blame management for not improving the club but making it worse.

We have a coach who won't coach or hold players accountable. We have players like Bouchard and RNH going through the motions and actively harming the team. Skinner spends more time grooming his moustache than he does imitating an NHL goaltender.
What's Captain Marvel's motto? Higher, further, faster? This iteration of the Oilers should be slower, older, weaker. They absolutely refuse to work for anything and if I'm McDavid, I'm absolutely laying the f*** into Hyman, RNH, Bouchard and Skinner.

If you're not going to literally try anything else but stick with "well this worked a year ago, we're just going to keep doing the same thing" ... then you can kindly f*** off as a coach as far as I'm concerned.
This is the team. Don't like it, then resign. Shit or get off the pot. If you can't do anything with this group then let Joel Quennville or someone else come in and maybe show you a thing or two.
Elite coaches get production even from suboptimal players/rosters, it's the job. Daryl Sutter got what? A monster season out of Kylington and Mangiapane and even freaking Gudbranson who looked completely washed.

Hyman scored 20 more goals than McD last season at less than half the pay. McD needs to be scoring more. Thats a need too. Hyman wasnt brought in here as a 50 goal scorer and isn't being paid to be one. He's a guy with an expected goals around 25. I sure wouldn't be blaming what Hyman has done here. Man, he's earned my grace and then some.

Holland needed Jackson to fix his team picking a coach AND to bring in a mental health guy to make our headcase goalie get it together for playoffs.
Without Jackson, Holland’s last season here ends in disgrace.
For sure though, none of these guys have done what was needed. Miracle playoffs from McDavid and Bouch and stars aligning in all kinds of ways weren’t enough to change that. Came close. But still wasn’t enough.
The Oilers have the same number of goals as San Jose.

This team is way more talented than that. Knoublaugh better figure his shit out and make some adjustments, because that is massive under performance. If they are gassing another coach then McDavid, Draisaitl, Nurse and RNH should do the press conference and explain why they need a new coach every season.
I would not be shocked to see Q in to replace Coffey, who then is tasked with babysitting the dumb dumbs in our front office. He seems to excel as a short term troubleshooter and would at least force Bowman to look over his shoulder.
Q then could be a vocal foil to the sackless trio that is Knobby/Gulutzan/Stuart. One hard practice under the old Coach Q will make our perimeter queens wish they hadn’t been born, and maybe get them putting in a 90% effort instead of a -90% one.

Grace doesn’t mean anything right now. This is pro sports and it’s what you’re doing now. Last season and the season before have nothing to do with this one. Nuge and him can both play in the bottom 6 for a while.

Brown's 3 million is on Holland dude. Jeff Jackson wasn't an employee of the Oilers at the time, his job was to get his client (Brown) the best deal and he did.
If anything that's probably why Holland is not here now, Jackson saw he was a lame duck negotiator who got taken to the cleaners in that deal.
No chance the Oilers make the Finals with Woodcroft, Holland wouldn't have hired Knob.

We don’t have an identity! Except old and slow I guess. For the last 3 years we were the big, fast, heavy forechecking team, maybe the best forechecking team in the league after Florida. Line 1 you have Mcdavid and Hyman who’s (usually) a great forechecker. Then comes Kane with Draisaitl to destroy you. Then comes the speed and forechecking of Foegele and Holloway, along with Mcleod’s transition play. Even Carrick/Erne would be fast and hit guys. That wears teams down, and we have NONE of that right now, except for Hyman who is struggling. No identity, no speed, no way to disrupt and wear down the other team, nobody for Mcdrai to pass to. This team is a mediocre old team. We’re the basically the Penguins but without the multiple cups.

McDrai seems to have a year + shelf life. Maybe it's because they are so pre-scouted that new habits force the league to adjust and that takes around a year, but it's looking like they lack buy-in. Maybe they are as upset about the offseason as we are lol.
