almost certain someone will offer sheet these guys. too easy not to and Toronto gets everything handed to them I would like to see something not go there way

How would this process work?

Could Montreal offer Matthews 14x7 and Marner 12x7, and take whomever the Leafs can't match (because they can't match both)

Is there a rule saying you can't do it that way? Is there a way for the Leafs to dodge that?

I feel like Montreal >HAS< to offer-sheet Matthews specifically; Weber and Price are signed long term and this team needs to be winning now.

You’d have a better chance offer sheeting Santa Claus and he’s already in red and white.

Mike Cammalleri
Doug Gilmour
Erik Cole
Brian Gionta
Roman Hamrlik
Alexander Radulov

Why you have to be such a dick though ?
Lol that’s your list? He’s just asking an obvious question and since you have no rebuttal you get all sensitive.

The habs were the only team willing to give Radulov a chance and he left after a year.

Tavares wouldn’t even meet with your GM

why in the hell would Montreal give a tons of first round picks for Marner ? you would give 4 years of high picks for Marner ?
The cost to sign a RFA is simply stupid and no GM wants to touch that.

$9,131,645 or greaterFour first-round picks

ITS INSANE, you do understand that MTL top draft picks are going to be in the top 10 for 2 +years, right ?

you would give Toronto a dynasty for Marner, really ?

In reality, not one of those picks may end up as good as Marner, heck all of them combined may yield the same result.

Why would they do this? They just signed him long term. They see his value. They could've just waited until after Dec 1st and let him play in the KHL if they were just going to dump him in the off season.

Because Matthews and Marner are more valuable, and Leafs can't afford all 3

And even though Philly structured it to put tremendous pressure on the Preds in the hope they couldn't match it, Nashville still did. Making it a waste of time and effort on the Flyers part.

And that happened before the 2013 CBA was in place. Many thought nashville wouldn't match, but they did, and it led to Subban being a pred.

For a joke of an organization you guys sure do talk a lot of shit. Dave Keon is your best all time player, oh and how many cups do you have? The only reason Toronto became a relevant hockey market is cus of the referendum.

Basically everything shifted from MTL to Toronto after that. Its not like T.O actually ever achieved anything worthwhile in hockey, we gifted you everything you have. Run along now and stay mediocre for another century.

That is just a lie

Dave Keon is one of the NHLs best all time hockey players. We have 13 cups. Ok you lost a referendum.

Basically everything shifted from MTL to Toronto after that. Its not like T.O actually ever achieved anything worthwhile in hockey, we gifted you everything you have.

Sure we have. We have won 13 Cups.

Of all the teams offer sheeting I would think the Habs would be near the bottom as they have 2 of the worse contracts in the whole league in Price and Weber.....I can't see how they could be viable to through a tonne of money at Matthews.....

Offer sheet Laine 14 million @ 7 years and see if the Peg can or will match that.
I hope not, can you imagine what Matthews and Marner's agents will demand if Laine gets payed that much? Leafs will really be in cap hell if that happens, I'm just hoping we don't see any crazy offer sheets on any of the RFAs this summer.
