Got a bunch of minutes last night and didn't do anything with them. Plus, he's been the easy scapegoat for a while, and the team is terribly run.
Not with this coach, he has actually handeled him with kid gloves and was very positive with him.

Right now he's playing worse than his true version and that's the problem.

I agree. But his true self is not what you saw last year. He's a fine 3rd pairing guy but he's not a guy who will make the difference. Top teams have guys as good as him on their 3rd pairing. If he was physical maybe but he's kind of soft despite his size.

...I was trying to forget about PAP and Brière.
There was an issue with Bouillon, and it wasn't MB's.

Honestly, if we could have the Bouillon we had a few years ago, I'd grab him in a second over some of the chaff we have now.

When you play against good goaltenders playing on good teams, our offence is easily shutdown. That doesn't fall on Price. He stunk the joint out last night. It happens. Stop whining about Price. He's the least of our worries right now.

Seriously our defense is really bad. As soon that schlemko is back i would try Lernout instead of Benn.

Mete - Weber
Alzner - Petry
Schlemko - Lernout

Couldn't do worse than streit/benn

I don't think anyone thinks this guy is a difference maker.

But he's better than what he showed us in these two games.
Thats how good MBs team is. Inspires a lot of confidence.

Just play a solid 60 minutes :laugh::laugh:

Actually yes, if they show up and give a decent effort for 60 minutes I think we have a good chance at winning this game.

This made me chuckle, it is not the job for Pacioretty, I feel bad for him in this role, he is not captain material. I often wonder if he simply drew the short straw?

Patches in a non physical, non play making winger with a hell of a shot. A Sniper. Offers nothing else. One dimensional. He never professed to be anything but. He is not paid as an elite. He takes way more criticism than he warrants. He is not a superstar. Hab fans knock him because he does not preform like one. Some nights he looks like he is doing nothing because he isnt. If he is not scoring the rest of his game is not worth talking about. Not his fault the that when his teammates looked around the room they found no one more suitable to vote for as captain. Not his fault that the team he plays for cant acquire or keep a player better than himself. Not his fault that "the best center I ever played with is David Desharnais" (The captains words not mine).

Off topic . Race is on....who gets more points this year Montreal or Las Vegas? ;)

He is a good skater with good defensive responsibilities. And consistently scores 30 goals a year. Maybe you are right, maybe he doesn't disappear but the other team has him covered properly based on the limitations of his game.

There's no way Lernout could be worse than Benn. I thought he played fairly well in his couple of games last year.

He was also ahead of Benn in the training Camp. They play the same style but lernout is ahead in skating speed, poise with puck and looks mean on the ice. And we lack of that, except of Weber everyone is soft on the puck carrier.

True 100%. I have no clue why MB thought Benn was not only worth protecting but also playing top 4 minutes.

Honestly my standards are so low that I fully expect another ugly loss. This D as is simply cannot skate well enough to compete in this faster nhl.

Watched Leafs Rangers last night...

Leafs had Lundqvist figured out going low blocker.

Deangelo will give Vigneault a few grey hairs this season.

Nash looked as good as he did in the playoffs last spring.

Kreider was providing a very effective screen on the powerplay.

Rangers can score but they give em up too.
