3 road games to start the year on the road and all home openers for the other team. Is it me or does this seem rare? That's a tough schedule to begin the year and two of those games are back to back.

Let's see what the lineup changes are and how we respond!

Patch / Drouin / Byron
Hudon / Pleky / Galchenyuk
Lehkonen / Danault / Gallagher
Shaw / DLR / Mitchell

Mete / Weber
Alzner / Petry
Davidson / Benn

Is that an official lineup?

I don't like Lehkonen/Danault/Gallgher. I really don't. But other than that, it could make sense.

On topic : if pairing and lines aren't Pejorative Slured, I say we play our best game so far...But I'm predicting the Rangers do so as well. Will be a 3 point game.

stop living in the past....Price WAS the best....today he is far from it....his best days are behind him

When's the last time a crap team won anything, even with a top tier goalie? A goalie is nothing without a superior team, and vice versa.

The current D is based on the Ice Follies, and will provide a great deal of comic relief but not much in the way of exciting, winning hockey.

When your untried teenager is the best fit to pair with Shea F. Weber, you know the season will be long and the excuses and tears will be flowing mightily.

It's hard to care about this team this year.

It's like all the hope is gone, the making of this team is so Pejorative Slured there's just no way we can hope for a cup.

I love to be hopeful, maybe when Bergevin is gone.
Firing Bergevin won't right the ship, nor undo his mistakes. Hard to be hopeful.

The scary part is that Molson is a bigger moron than Bergevin

Molson has actuaries to tell him about profit and loss in the ledger, not on the ice. Until a real President of Hockey Ops is put in place to advise and rein the GM, while buffering the Board, there is no safeguard to prevent a free fall.

I think it's safe to say that Jordie Benn as "Mike Weaver'd" his way into our plans. We are seeing the true Benn right now, not the overachieving version of March 2016.
So the true Benn is the "underachieving" version?

Seems we wait until our players have a bad game and immediately claim them as that to be the true player

Given the state of the defence, Jerabek and Morrow might determine how this team performs this year.... That's a scary thought. If either can prove to be a top four defenceman, it's going to make all the difference.

Hemsky / Streit HAVE to sit this one, and I'd rather an injured Schlemko over Davidson, but beggars can't be choosers. I think (hope) you are right on the money with the D.

For forwards, I'm hoping for:

Patches / Drouin / Galchenyuk
Byron / Pleky / Gally
Lekhonen / Danault / Shaw
Hudon / DLR / Mitchell

I think Hudon has played better than Lekhonen so far, but I think the rookie goes down first (dressing room politics) and Julien has more trust in Lehkonen at this point.

He had all the opportunities in the world this year. On the LW. And in the middle of the box on the PP

How not to put your players in position to succeed 101™

Even in such bad circumstances I thought he kept the puck moving well and played the role asked of him. Anyone that doesn't suffer from serious bias can tell that he has lost confidence and is at this point not trying to be creative just do what the coach asks of him(as opposed to being called lazy and uncaring). In the preseason they asked him to be good defensively and he was. In the season they asked him to be solid defensively and be smart with the puck in the middle on the PP (rather than being on the right where he is his strongest) and as I mentioned he moved the puck well. They have basically put him in every position that he is unfamiliar with and he has done decently in that regard.

It would be nice to reward him by playing him with offensive linemates either at C or RW. While giving him the ice time that a former 3rd overall and 2nd best point producer over the last 3 seasons deserves. This whole Chucky is a LW is obviously not working and they need to cater to his strengths or trade him.

I propose :

Pacioretty - Drouin - Galchenyuk
Hudon - Danault - Gallagher
Byron - Plekanec - Lekhonen
Hemsky - DLR - Shaw

Mete - Weber
Alzner - Petry
Jerabek - Benn

Rangers game isn't a home opener, but yes it's a tough schedule to start. 3 games in 4 nights all on the road.

I expect a closer game tonight and hopefully we'll get 2 points.

I agree. It's not often King Henrik and Price get lit up on the same night AND both play the next day. I'm going with the under on this one and hope for 2 points.

Would like to see galchenyuk and Pacioretty switch places on the pp so galchenyuk is the trigger man and Pacioretty is in the slot. Otherwise I'd go with this:

Pacioretty- drouin - Gallagher
Hudon - Plekanec - Byron
Lehkonen - Danault - galchenyuk
de la rose - Mitchell - Shaw

Mete - Weber
Alzner - petry
Morrow - Benn

I like galchenyuk and Lehkonen together. Chucky needs to play with some skill or he becomes sort of useless. Byron and Plekanec work well on the forecheck together and I like Hudon with Plekanec.

I took Morrow over Davidson just because I think mobility is needed back there.

Let's say Julien places Galchenyuk on the first line RW. Worst case scenario, it fails after x amount of games. Then what?

What's more likely Jaffy

That the Benn the Dallas fans saw for his entire career, what we've seen during the playoffs, pre season and this season is the real Benn

Or the hot streak post trade Benn is the real Benn?

Like come on, dude.
