This board is really divided between Tank and Comeback modes. The Habs are still in No Man's Land since it's so early in the season but the D looks horrible so far and the offense is inconsistent. Price not being Price just complicates things even further... this year's a real crapshoot. The only hard failure would be to finish on the bubble, as I see drafting high / making the playoffs by a hair both as positives.

For now, let's see Charlie channel John Quick and Jo work some magic with Chucky. I'm no Tank or Comeback poster, I'm in the Whatever camp for the foreseeable future.

Shaw has actually shocked me the past several games. Where has this player been hiding? Some guys have upfront have really stepped up their game big time. Hopefully Monty has a good game tonight and we can get ourselves closer to a playoff position.

I don't know if shaw has been what I expected this season, but the game against Winnipeg was definitely good. I've said before that I thought shaw was in good form prior to the concussion, but I've been underwhelmed since.

The Habs need him to keep being the player he was last night in Winnipeg.

Let's go Lindgren!

I don't know if he's starting tonight but I would give him the nod. Something could be said about montoya being back in his hometown though.

Ideally, I would have had lindgren on Saturday and montoya on Sunday, but maybe that's just me.

It will be interesting to see how Drouin and Galchenyuk play together. Hopefully they get a bit of a stretch together. Pacioretty seems to play well with Danault.

Still I see the year ending with something like:

Pacioretty Danault Gallagher
Hudon Drouin Lehkonen
Byron Galchenyuk Scherbak
Carr Plekanec Shaw

There are a number of factions, as I see it.

Bergevites: Unconditional management supporters. Will favor current edition of team, rain or shine. Some believe the forum should be a Habs booster club. Some also believe that if you can't support whatever the Habs do, you should be posting somewhere else.

Hab Supporters/ Anti-Bergevite: They don't like Bergevin but they can't get themselves to root for a rebuild/tank. The team is a fail if it becomes mathematically eliminated. Repeat next year.

Pro-Tankers: Blow it all up. Appoint a PHO. Hold the owner accountable. Finish in the basement so Habs can draft best players and solve decades-long needs. Believe HF should be a place where opposing views can be discussed, even those unfavorable to the team and/or management and ownership.

Retoolers: Moderates who don't want to see extreme changes but would favor the appointment of a PHO and some tweaks in the team's composition. Probably Green Party voters who prioritize a life premised on recycling and preserving as much of any existing environment as they can. They would be open to a 1 or 2 years of not being in the playoffs but nothing too prolonged.

Undecided: The "wait-and-see", on the fence types, for an undetermined future. They'll sit on any fence provided it has no spikes.

Nice sell job on Casperetty. We'll see if it's warranted. If they win tonight, they'll get a much better welcome at home against Vegas.

Good grief! Win it for Peate's sake! :dumbo:

Both teams played last night and both had to travel to Chicago so this could be an ugly game to watch. The winner will be the team who lasts longer.

Hopefully Lindgren has a good game.

If you are "shocked" by Andrew Shaw's play recently you either haven't really been paying attention before or you were blinded by a bias.

He was hot garbage last year, taking stupid penalties, taking stupid shots, and not contributing the way he should’ve. He was also terrible to start this season. What are you talking about bias?

You've made what I was talking about perfectly clear with your response here.

My opinion is he’s sucked since coming here, and I acknowledged he’s played really well as of late. Why are you throwing the word bias around? Because I said he was underperforming?
