So that's what's been holding up negotiations! Anybody else soooo excited about our D!!!
- great development by Diaz and Emelin!
- PK and Markov in the lineup together (Only 20 games and 3 playoff games before)
- 3 solid D pairing with a puck moving D on each pairing
- flexibility to move assets like a Weber or a Kaberle
- solid D prospects on the horizon (Tinordi, Ellis, Nathan B., Bennett, Dietz, Thrower)

Racism doesn't necessarily mean that he's prejudice on skin colour.
It has to do with the mannerisms, culture, etc. Hockey players are supposed to be classy, WASPy, quiet and polite individuals (a sport that is like 98% white). Whereas in Basketball, players are allowed, expected and often encouraged to have an "attitude"based on the urban culture of the game, post-1990. PK's "attitude" is constantly challenged by announcers and colormen, yet if he were playing basketball, he would be pretty quiet in comparison. See the double standard in relation to race?
To be honest, I don't think it's bad on Carbo's fault, I think it's just the sense of institutional racism in hockey.

I don't think anyone will be mad about him holding out a few games like that. Let's face it most fans would agree he's worth at least 3M.
Anyway PK is one of the best guy on the team with the fans and he will win them back in no time.

Carbo also wasn't willing to put in the long hours as a head coach and hasn't hooked on anywhere since. It's too bad he has lowered himself in to being part of the AntiChambre band of idiots. Carbo was a great player...one of the best defensive forwards to ever play the game.

I'm not sure about the argument that he will cost more two years from now, I understand the theory behind it but I'm not sure it will actually apply. There are a lot of factors that can affect a player performance.
In the end, as a short term contract, it's hard to beat. I fully expected him to sign for 6 or 7M over two years. I consider the actual contract a bargain. If the goal was to sign him for a short contract, then it's a damn good contract.
