WJC: Montreal and Toronto to Share WJC in 2015 & 2017

(*Copied my post from the Canadian WJR thread... *)

I couldn't find the article on line but, in the National Post, they said the average ticket price for Toronto will be $80 with the most expensive packages going at $150/game.

In a word... WOW!

When I went to the games in Buffalo, I paid $40/game (for the best seats) and people thought that was expensive.

**

At what point does it get to be too much? How do the WJR's return to their roots? Where does it go from here? :(

Me too but it will be Drouins tournament! Hope for the best!

I really doubt he'll spend another year in junior after this year. He'll be a full-time NHLer next year and will not be released.

It will be McDavid's tournament with a strong challenge from the young American Jack Eichel.

Just a quick question? I would like to goto Canada and visit for 2015 WJC. Is Canada still strict on misdemeanor charges done in the US? Even though I have a passport? Thanks canada residents

You're asking the wrong crowd. This place is filled with armchair GMs and I think it's safe to assume there are plenty of armchair lawyers too.

Haha I was just curious. Thought maybe someone had the answer.

Awesome. Crowds will be nuts. Also means the likelihood of Canada winning either of them is next to zero. That pressure is too much for pro players never mind teenagers.

When they played in Buffalo, the Sabres season ticket holders got first dibs. Not sure if that will be the case in Toronto.

Was the same in Edmonton, I'm gonna bet it'll be the same in Toronto/Montreal, probably just for their respective arenas though.

Yes and that's fair but a shame. Yes, the STH deserve an advantage/benefit. No, the Toronto/Montreal WJR's should not be an ALL corporate event.

According to the Toronto Star, almost all of the Toronto games are sold out. Montreal is currently half sold out.

Which city will host which group? Also is there any way to buy tickets to only team Sweden games? Will probably be in Canada that time next year, would be nice to catch a few games.

Toronto gets the Non Canadian Round Robin Pool games in 2015 and the non quarter final playoff games. Montreal gets the Canadian Pool Games in 2015. In 2017, they switch.

So, you will need to be in Toronto. Because everything is sold in packages, you cannot just buy Sweden's games but I am sure there will be many tickets available on Stub-Hub.

The average ticket, face value, is $80 CDN or 56 Euros.

you buy them as a package, so all games in toronto or all in montreal. toronto has the gold and bronze as well as some preliminary games this year, while montreal has some prelim as well. Im sure as the date comes closer you will be able to buy certain games from people that wont be able to make certain games/dont want to go to certain games

Thanks guys, I'll probably just wait it out a bit and then buy tickets second hand. I'll be in the area anyways so it'll be nice to catch a few games and hopefully get back at Finland.

So if I wanted tickets to USA-Canada I'd need to buy tickets to USA-Slovakia, Finland and Norway plus Canada-Finland, Slovakia Norway plus Finland-Slovakia, Norway, plus Slovakia-Norway?

Ten games?

Yeah, I went to the games in Calgary and got tickets to all the round robin games plus the medal round games. This is a part of the reason many non-Canadian games have good attendance.

I know people who were able to purchase tickets to the semi-final against Russia through stub hub, but they haven't told me how much they paid
