Not sure how it's better for hockey at all to be honest. If anything we should be seeing less of their style, not more of it.Some of you guys take an old hockey rivalry too far. We haven't even been true hockey rivals (ie playoff series') for decades. I would definitely rather see Montreal win the Cup over Tampa. They're a great hockey town and original 6 vs Tampa - - - - ing Bay, who just won last year. All Torontonians should rather see Montreal win. It's better for hockey, it's better for Canada. Fwiw I also love traveling to Montreal, the food is fantastic.
nope do not agree. there is one Canadian team I Want to win and it sure is not the Canadians yuck! Some of you guys take an old hockey rivalry too far. Montreal feels like a foreign country

Chips Ahoy?I haven't eaten an Oreo cookie in a decade and I'm hoping I never eat one again.

Well it's good you're not bitter.Canada's team. It's an easy get. Problem is it's not true. When Vancouver went to the Final, don't know if like marketing was tried but I know a number of us became Kings fans the night they beat the Canucks.
Think about the circumstances by which The North Division is created. Under duress. Let's leave it at that. Under complete, generational, duress. And now, never mind your loyalties, never mind distinction, a team once built in no small part on territorial rights in a province sustained by incessant cultural identity concession under pain of threatened secession is being advertised as "Canada's Team" because they made it out of the C-19 North Division...
All aspects of this compelled new normal can hold hands and jump straight up it's own ass.

Sorry, but for me, any Leafs fan who says they are supporting Montréal (or any other team, but especially Montréal!!) because they are Canadian loses all credibility forever.
So it's better for their fans and people supporting them, not for the actual game. It's obviously better for hockey to see a city that is in love with hockey win the Stanley Cup, over a city that has already won it just last year and where the fraction of people actually caring about hockey is probably the fraction that are Canadian transplants. If I had to choose between the two cities and regions, obv Montreal deserves a Cup over Tampa Bay..
