Most likely most of the hardcores aren't watching John Oliver.

They’ll almost certainly check it out on You Tube as I suspect it’ll be the trending wrestling story tomorrow.

The thing is most hardcores know about the wrestler’s lack of health insurance.

I’m not gonna watch the whole video now but apparently Oliver made an ill advised joke about Reigns looking like a pedophile, which I can guarantee you the WWE defenders will make the story as they are so very good at spin and deflection.

The comment was referring to Roman always having wet hair. "You look like a pedophile out for a jog."

... And in an attempt to locate that comment, I discovered why I don't listen to this douchebag.

Any guy who buys random people’s credit card debt from a predatory company and forgives it is okay with me.

Yeah I think the fans are out of this one. There is nothing we can do to force the hand. It's down to the wrestlers. They need to unite and AEW is giving an option with healthcare. There is not a darn thing the fans can do.

I enjoyed what little of the Oliver stuff I watched.
That being said, it's pretty easy to roast Vince and the independent contractor stuff isn't really a revelation. At least to us fans.

Tommaso Ciampa has said that doctors told him if he ever returned to the ring he’s wrestling on borrowed time.

Shouldn’t be surprising since everyone who’s gotten neck surgery like that seemingly returns on borrowed time, like Edge did.

If John Oliver is wanting Vince McMahon to change his mind about something by imploring the fans to "make their voices heard" at live events, he really hasn't been keeping track of what's been going on the past 5+ years, has he? :sarcasm:
He doesn't like having fans hijack shows either.

he was going hard at them for the Saudi Arabian shows.

hot yikes on that Oliver segment. he went in hard

As he always does.

The problem is that it's not really new news. Most people who care about wrestling know what a disgusting carney like environment it is. Whether you like or dislike Oliver (and I love him) the man goes viral. A lot. His rants and segments will get out there and get people talking but in this case...I don't know if it's new info to anybody in a position to care. The people that this is new for...Likely don't care all that much.

I am curious as to how many try to bring signs in now, because as you said, Oliver stuff goes viral and lots of people come together to do things he suggests. I wonder if WWE will be on high alert to confiscate any signs in reference to workers rights.

Everyone knows about what he’s talking about if they follow WWE. The big thing I really clued in on was how much the CM Punk podcast probably changed things in regards to taking care of their talents’ health rather than running them into the ground.

We also know they always cover their talents surgeries and rehabs for former talents, so they’re covered in that regard. The health insurance thing is the big one, though, in regards to everything else they may need.

It was also heartbreaking seeing the Piper interview again where he said to just face facts and that he wasn’t going to make 65.

Why he gotta say Roman looks like a pedo going for a jog tho the hell
That's one of his gimmicks. Not to make jokes about pedophiles, but a joke that is so outlandish and hyperbolic, and then let me guess, he started talking really fast and sounds like he's going to run out of breath?

A rep for WWE sent the following statement to Pro Wrestling Sheet:
John Oliver Ignores Facts
John Oliver is clearly a clever and humorous entertainer, however the subject matter covered in his WWE segment is no laughing matter. Prior to airing, WWE responded to his producers refuting every point in his one-sided presentation. John Oliver simply ignored the facts.
The health and wellness of our performers is the single most important aspect of our business, and we have a comprehensive, longstanding Talent Wellness program.
We invite John Oliver to attend WrestleMania this Sunday to learn more about our company.

I mean he didn’t present all the facts (surgeries and rehabs and whatnot) but he didn’t present false information either. WWE classifies them as he said, and if lower level talents didn’t want to be bled of their money in court battles, non-competes wouldn’t stand, as we found out with Lesnar in 2004.
