I remember rousey on talk shows after she lost her first fight. She admitted that she was suicidal, depressed and to tied up to her ego/character. Wonder how she is doing after this loss. A good test to see how she recovers. Tim tebow is one guy who has now reinvented himself and is even writing self help and diet books. The iron Mike Tyson is a pretty positive guy now and a vegan. Who would have thought after that ear bitingfiasco lol.

Who was the ultimate Rousey defender on here who would get angry whenever someone predicted this would happen a few months ago? She's mentally weak and she was a gimmick.

I'm assuming since she's a no-talent flash in the pan who's rapidly running out of options in the entertainment world, she'll be a pivotal part of a WWE storyline soon.

No talent is taking it a bit far. She's still an olympic medal winner and former UFC champion.

I expect her at Summerslam but if Coach is correct, I don't know. She's broken. Any mystic and draw around her is gone, Hollywood movies were postponed/cancelled because her draw was gone and they realized she also sucked at acting (it was all about the draw, though) and now who would want to watch her in WWE? She'd get a nice payday, but there's a non-existent draw there now. Stephanie McMahon will probably fight tooth and nail to bring her in, though, so I wouldn't be completely shocked if we see Stephanie McMahon vs. Ronda Rousey at Summerslam.

If Vince does still want her then he can definitely have her. She's done in UFC and Hollywood is turning it's back on her.

I don't think it should be for awhile. She doesn't seem completely stable right now. She was very open about thinking about suicide when she lost to Holm so before anything Ronda needs to focus on Ronda.

The mental stability part, I think, will be the bigger red flag than the second loss. You can work around the latter, not the former.

Vince didn't care that Lesnar and Tyson were broken. Supposedly nobody cared about Goldberg. If they do it right, and book it right, she'll be fine, as long as she's all-in on doing what she needs to do. Luckily they have that unresolved open end from WM31. Probably has more potential as a heel though.

I don't follow UFC but on my Facebook feed it seems like everyone hates her. Why is she so hated?

I feel bad especially since it seems like she has had some serious mental issues.

Same reasons people stopped liking Tiger Woods, before he got caught by his wife.

The other part of the equation with Rousey is does she want to do anything at this point? Vince can want her as much as he wants but if she doesn't want to do it, then it's not gonna happen.

Once she gets over her next sabbatical. She liked the two times she was TV as 'a fan,' and she actually is one. She won't want the full-time schedule, and Vince won't force her to do that, she'll get a Lesnar schedule and enjoy it. They parade Stephanie out there yelling 'women's revolution' to everyone who will listen (and some who don't), it would be a good opportunity for Vince, Ronda, and the women she'd work with. I'll get up for Ronda and Charlotte at Summerslam.

Big Dave has gotten confirmation that Undertaker and Michaels will appear on January 9.

I was disappointed with the Rousey fight last night.

Like the commentators said post match, she didn't make any changes to her fighting style.

All she does well is look really mean pre-fight.

I can see the WWE bringing her in eventually.

Poor Ronda, not sure why she is getting so much abuse everywhere.

Because she literally and i mean LITERALLY did not block a single strike and it looked like she wasn't even trying to block them. Like she almost wanted to take every shot and get it over with. Extremely disappointing.

She's a whiny entitled brat.

Let's take a look at the two top stars in the UFC: McGregor and Rousey.

Rousey - takes loss, disappears, then comes back a year later and doesn't have to do any media to build her fight, supposedly got UFC to fire commentator Mike Goldberg because UFC is now owned by the agency that represents her and she had no repercussions whatsoever (McGregor lost his fight for not wanting to do one media appearance)

McGregor - takes his loss by tapping out, and instead of pouting and disappearing and avoiding the media, he faced the music, admitted Diaz was the better man on that night. Then they did the rematch and he came back and won, and then went on to be the first ever double weight champion.

And that's all just recent stuff that's happened in the past year.

I can't stand her. She's a brat. I only feel bad for her regarding her mental health, but after that I just can't stand her. She's very unlikeable.

Congrats to Roman for taking home the internet awards for worst wrestler (guessing this was only for top card talents), worst PPV Match and most overrated wrestler (by wwe) of the year.

A true achievement (although the worst PPV match of the year by far is miz vs young)

Where exactly did you hear this?

You act like Conor doesn't get special treatments either.

Dave Meltzer supposedly hinted at it one of his shows.

Stars get special treatments, yes, but the dude got his main event fight pulled from a card entirely for not wanting to do one media appearance because he wanted to train whereas Rousey didn't have to do **** regarding media and it was allowed to happen. Not to mention she can't even stick around to talk do the press conference after a loss.

Conor is going to want more. After what happened to Ronda, dude's going to want like $10M and no media appearances.

And he's earned it. Celebrities like Conan O'Brien own a stake in UFC and McGregor's already said he wants a stake in the company before talking about another fight.

He's their last proven huge draw available at the moment, with Jones, Lesnar, GSP gone/suspended and Rousey probably done with fighting. He doesn't need to fight again for a while, his girlfriend is having their child in the spring. He doesn't need to rush into another fight. He can sit on his throne in Dublin and wait for them to come crawling to him, which they will do.

Whether WME represents Rousey or not (they do), they set a precedent now.

I highly doubt Ronda Rousey had anything to do with Mike Goldberg being removed. I've seen zero evidence of this. The new management has replaced the entire Canadian UFC team, former veteran stars doing nothing (Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell), and A LOT of the former ZUFFA team. I bet they bring in someone ****ing odd. Should be Jon Anik.

Conor tried the same thing. Difference I think it was is they didn't need Conor for that card with Lesnar there. You ***** about her getting special treatments when Conor tried the same ****.

I know you're a newer MMA/Conor fan, guessing shortly after his blessed fight, but this kid since the Aldo fight has had a sketchy run as well of special treatments. I watched him in Cage Warriors (MMAJunkie used to promote their events like crazy). Even there he won the FW belt, didn't have to defend it, then the LW belt. To go for another belt you should have to clean up your division. Conor should have had to of fight Edgar next, and then one of Aldo/Blessed rematch.

He lost to a non-top five LW. Rousey's only lost to top three fighters. He beat Nate, not quite as dominantly as others like Benson Henderson and RDA. Got to pick his rematch instead of defending his belt, picked the weight class too. After that, with 0 LW wins, 1-1 against a LW outside the top five, gets Eddie Alvarez who let's be honest is tailor maid for him. Even now with recent comments about wanting the Nate rematch. Khabib is the worst style for him.

Conor and Ronda got special treatment like no others.. Obviously we're on a hockey forum.. you play well, you'll get attention, called up, more money, etc. In pro-wrestling and MMA, you really don't make too much money, need that promotion, and even if you deserve it, you don't get it. Rory MacDonald made 59k to show vs Robbie Lawler in the main event for a title fight. Sage Northcutt just made 60k to show and he's not a UFC level fighter even with 400+ on the roster.

On the bright side for Conor personally, he can continue and call his shots, especially now. Paige VanZant who they wanted to get full behind just lost fast and wants to take an MMA break. Sage Northcutt sucks. Cyborg Santos who could have been a massive, massive draw in 2017 taking the WFW belt just busted for PEDs for the second time. Jon Jones isn't the superstar PPV wise that they had hoped. Brock doesn't seem to be coming back anytime soon.

Long story short/ Ronda was on a card where she was needed. Conor wasn't NEEDED at UFC 200. Worked out so well as they managed to sell a million at 202 where they wouldn't have before. I know you're a Conor fan - you better hope to sell they keep him away from Khabib.

You make very good points across the board but haven't they said that about his last three opponents?

Oh better hope they keep McGregor away from Aldo! McGregor beats him.
It's crazy McGregor wants to fight Diaz after tapping! McGregor beats him.

I even heard similar comments about McGregor facing Alvarez.

Conor is absolutely entitled as well. Difference is he went out there and went back to winning fights so he maintained the leverage to be entitled.

Ronda just spent the last of her leverage and lost.

Conor McGregor was the favourite over Eddie Alvarez.
Conor McGregor was the favourite over Nate Diaz II.
Conor McGregor was a massive favourite over Nate Diaz I.

I'll give you Jose Aldo. Everything he did at FW was completely legit. The thing is, Nate Diaz is typically a fighter elite fighters should not be losing to. Michael Johnson was his only top ten victory since Cowboy Cerrone since the end of 2011. He was dusted since then by Benson Henderson Josh Thomson AND Rafael dos Anjos. Even after losing to this guy, Conor still called his shots and wasn't granted everything besides UFC 200. He had very little case for a rematch. He got his rematch, picked the weight class, and then after beating a non-top five LW at WW was granted a LW shot without defending his belt at FW.

Everything Ronda does, Conor has done as well.. besides the loss. Conor handled his loss like a man. Rarely seen. He spoke to the media, wanted his rematch. Though the way he and Dana tell the story, holy ****. He beat a man three times his size, etc. When asked about Conor defending his belt against Nate recently, Dana responded with Nate Diaz is a ****ing WW. He's had 4 of his 20 fights post TUF fights at WW. Hs last 8 fights at LW as well.

Here's a post from mine in 2013 (not on here obviously) prior to his debut

04-03-2013, 03:45 PM
I'm really, really looking forward to Brimage/McGregor

McGregor was documented heavily coming up, prior to even signing in the UFC.

Dana White was in Ronda's lockerroom after the fight for a long time apparently. She was just fully promoted. I bet you if she wants another fight, she gets whatever she wants again. This girl needs to go to Kings MMA. She has a chin. Her footwork is terrible. Her head movement is terrible. Her striking is bad. You have a world class athlete though, someone who's beat top tier opponents. She's teachable if this humbled her enough.

Fox's deal with the UFC is up in the Fall of 2018 I think. If she returns, I think you put her on Fox for a massive ratings deal, then you can head into talks about a TV deal with even more power.
