I like Sweeney but this is so dumb. Like dude you got away with one, but then you run out and say if Montgomery took a deal to our liking we then would have been stuck with him. Whatever. Just stop talking. :)
Don’t believe everything you hear.

Did they know he wasn’t coming back this was it no matter what - his and wife choice ?
Allegedly, his wife wants to go to St Louis. It doesn’t excuse the poor effort of the players (Pasta, Mcavoy) even if they did know and all had a “lame duck” feeling.

check out the timeline on doug armstrong naming drew bannister the permanent head coach. i think it was 2 days after the
bruins beat the leafs. the blues were hoping b's lost that series, because the end game was monty coaching st. louis based
on a handful of sources close to the situation.

bannister got a 2 year deal so that door is closed for now. and seems like detroit is sniffing around monty - lalonde is in the
same boat as he was, coach without a contract past this year and behind the bench of a team in disarray (and the "quietest
room i've ever seen", as he termed it).

Probably for a few years yes. However Chiarelli was more successful and people here crap all over him to this day

I completely agree. The thing about Chiarelli is that he goes big or goes home. That is a recipe for winning a Stanley Cup but it is also a recipe for getting fired.

Still, my favorite above all is the gimlet eye cast by Walter the dog.

I have saved the image, but for the uninitiated, please post again,

With increasing frequency, every time I see Don Sweeney do his professorial, matter of fact, I'm the smartest guy in the room act, my dislike for him expands exponentially.

He's not a terrible GM, in fact a good one, but boy do I want this guy gone. I am heartily sick of his sh*t.

Even if they turn it around this season, which I expect, if I could wave my magic wand both Sweeney and Neely would slip silently, inoffensively, into the ether. Never to be heard from again.

"Tiis an outcome devoutly to be wished for,"

The Jacob's family in reality should force retirement on them. Say essentially we don't want to fire you but if you don't retire I'm gonna fire you.

Does anyone remember the year under Cassidy when Sacco was head coach for a few games? My recollection is that it was the 2021-2022 season, but I can't find any answers.

If you can remember a month, great. It would be nice to see some stats, as I remember the game looking a lot better for that brief moment.

The Bruins went 3-1-2 in his absence and are coming off back-to-back wins over Edmonton and Calgary on the road before hosting Vegas, Tuesday at TD Garden. Cassidy praised Sacco’s work in the big chair.

“It was great for Joe. Hopefully, it raises his profile. Guys responded well,” Cassidy said. “But I’m looking forward to getting back at it. (Jokingly wagging a finger at Sacco) I told him. It’s not your job yet.”

I have my questions about him as a head coach, but I like Joe Sacco the person so I'm not really looking to bury him, yet I cannot get past the total absurdity of him saying he's gotta develop relationships with the players.

You've literally been here longer than all but one of them (right)? You were the lead assistant coach? You.....you didn't have relationships with them already? Don't know what makes them tick? What kind of motivations and incentives they respond to?

I mean....

Well he was running the PP so yeah maybe he doesn’t know the players he’s working with 😂

Wow. Maybe take it easy on society? The guy hosts a talk radio sports show. He’s not the Antichrist.
Not saying he is. I'm just saying that buying into garbage like Felger makes it easier to buy into garbage in general.

Of course he's not the Antichrist. Just a moron. Wealthy moron, I'm sure, but a moron nonetheless.

Anyone could have seen the issues with Monty's system and the roster make up on the Bruins, even during the 2022-2023 "record" season. The writing has been on the wall as soon as the strengths continued to come apart.

2022-2023: Bergeron held the team together, Monty even said it, he was the coach, Monty was a passenger.
2023-2024: The team struggled on breakouts and PP, roster composition was as a grinding d first team, Marchand said it himself. made the playoffs and won a round on the strength of goaltending. Monty's system didn't work, the mismatch to the roster he had showed in 5v5 and 5v4 time.
2024-2025: With the departure of more top six talent in JD, to an extent Heinen and Marchand regressing due to injury, we are FURTHER down the path of being a grinding team, the struggles on breakout lead to going big and at times bungling on defense.

The roster and the coach aren't a fit, I was excited about the Monty hire, but tbh it looks like it was the wrong one.

23 man roster.

3, MAYBE 4 of those 3 are playing at or over expected. So sure, you can have theories about roster construct. But it's wild that even to their most median performance levels, that many guys are playing WELL below their level.

New coach has to figure out ways to help unlock that. And the player do too.

This core will be looked back on as the should have done more core
Who is this core you are talking about ? McAvoy, Pasta, Marchand, Coyle, Carlo ? Who else, and how much more would you expect from these players ? A very good D'man, Great Forward, Aging superstar, 3rd line center, and a stay at home D'man.
