As the GM Sweeney has had 58 players drafted. I typically don't look at players drafted within the last 3 years because odds of them being NHL regulars is slim. That leave us with 43 players.

If you sort the picks by games played you quickly see that 4 of the top 5 players are defensemen and 2 of them don't even play for Boston. Here is where I look at this draft history under Sweeney and cringe.....

Top 10 Forwards drafted by Sweeney (based on pts)
1. Jake DeBrusk
2. Trent Frederic
3. Jack Studnicka
4. Jakub Lauko
5. John Beecher
6. Oskar Steen
7. Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson
8. Zachary Senyshyn
9. Joona Koppanen
10. Cameron Hughes

check out the timeline on doug armstrong naming drew bannister the permanent head coach. i think it was 2 days after the
bruins beat the leafs. the blues were hoping b's lost that series, because the end game was monty coaching st. louis based
on a handful of sources close to the situation.

bannister got a 2 year deal so that door is closed for now. and seems like detroit is sniffing around monty - lalonde is in the
same boat as he was, coach without a contract past this year and behind the bench of a team in disarray (and the "quietest
room i've ever seen", as he termed it).
I’m Monty I don’t accept that extension. Being a coach of the Bruins is one thing if you are older but you got a young family I wouldn’t do it and I’ve lived here my whole life.

Sacco and Sullivan make sense they see from here know how the fans and media are and probably can ignore their constant complaining and demands of firing

I'm in full agreement with @GordonHowe. Walter makes me laugh every single time I see him. Like a ray of sunshine without fail.
Wally, will you post the famous picture of the illustrious Walter for us again?

I had saved it to my laptop screensaver slideshow, but the laptop died.

At least I could save it on my phone.

Pretty please with sugar on top,

M.

The Jacob's family in reality should force retirement on them. Say essentially we don't want to fire you but if you don't retire I'm gonna fire you.
Again, the only language Jeremy Jacobs understands is money. Making it or losing it.

If the Bruins miss the postseason and the requisite playoff gate, there may well be consequences this time.

But, the Jacobs family and Charlie in particular are SweeneyNeely fans. It would take a fair degree of continued failure in the playoffs to usher both to the door.

I expect them to make the playoffs. So those two are likely safe.

For now.

Thank you, sir.

Sweeney hinted at a possible addition to the coaching staff since now they're down a man.

Sacco suggested he might change up the responsibilities. "Not today" but it's something they are looking at.

Might I suggest taking Chris Kelly off the PP and putting him on the PK and then hiring someone new to run the PP?

Someone? Anyone.
Anyone who has a plan not solely revolving around "Pass it to Ovechkin at the circle" Oh, I mean "Pass it to Pasta at the circle"

Razor just said there are only 4 coaches in the NHL that were hired before Monty. “The fact they only had 2 coaches since 2016 is better than everybody else in the league.”

“If Don Sweeney gets fired on a Friday he’ll have a job on Saturday. He is considered one of the best in the business. There’s 25-30 fan bases that would kill to have Sweeney’s record.”

I agree Dan. I didn’t start out as a big Sweeney guy, and still wouldn’t say I’m a fanboy, but I have to admit the guy has done his job. Best record in the league since he was hired. G7 of the Cup Final, GM of the Year… There was going to be a price to pay for going all in for 15 years and that’s the thin prospect pool. Yes, his off season acquisitions have struggled thru 20 games and that could be really bad, but it’s a little early in the game for me to make that determination.

Even if this team misses the playoffs. I think his track record of icing consistently strong teams for 9 years should buy him the opportunity to right the ship. For me to think it's time for Sweeney to go... it would probably take back to back DNQ’s and a team that looks like it can’t climb out of the hole. That’s what Chiarelli’s teams looked like when he was let go.

And No.2 finally cracked 100 pts. last week, 8 years after his draft year and 7 months from being a UFA.

This has to be the worst drafting of forwards over the same time period across the league.

If anything defines Sweeney's time as GM, it's his abject failure to acquire top offensive producing forwards/primary scoring threats. Whether it's via the draft, trade, free agency, he's failed to do the above through any of those channels.

Woof? More like barf!

Razor applying for the PP coach or anything else in the organisation?

Not for me, man. JC had a habit of disappearing and then “poof” he’s back again — totally out of nowhere. I found it extremely unsettling.

Besides, if you’re going to go big, go big. God is the one. Of course he’s not any kind of open book. You’ll find yourself saying “what in the name of God” a lot. He’ll also pull some head scratching moves.

But at the end of the day he is all knowing and that can be a very handy thing to have in your pocket come draft day.
I can see Marc Bertrand saying he’s overmatched and doesn’t show enough emotion keeling over and Zo not realizing till someone 5 minutes later texts in and tells him to check on Beatle

Definitely falls in the no brainer category. Kelly was an outstanding defensive forward—not much on the offensive side of the ice.
