I don't think we'll see him wrestling in any other company and I can see him signing a legends deal with WWE if he wants guaranteed income.
Same here. Bryan has said in the past that once he becomes a father he is done wrestling. He mentioned tonight about wanting to start a family soon and Brie said last month they were going to start trying this summer.

They most likely leveled with him that he could go on and wrestle again, but the risk is higher then others for him to end up in worse shape if he takes a bad bump to the head, short or long term.

He wants a family and wants to not go through a bad degenerative process I imagine.

Plus he must of also factored in the legal battle it would take to get out of his WWE contract to sign somewhere else to wrestle. Combine the risks and the fight, he might of sat down and asked if it was worth it and decided it wasn't anymore.

We can all agree those germen suplexes, diving headbutts, suicide dives and chairshots didn't do Benoit any favors. Which is not an excuse for what happened in the end at all.

Things are a lot different now and for the better. It'll never be perfect but odds are WWE would have given him the OK ten years ago to continue.

A big problem with Benoit was also steroids, which played a roll too.

Disappointed for sure but I bet nobody will have a retirement speech again that has a "That's what she said" chant break out. I got to see him live in Sacramento the Raw before his Summerslam title win and I got to see him win the IC title at WM31. I didn't get a chance to see him at a house show which is where I really wanted to see him but that's the way it goes. He's the single biggest reason I have continued to watch wrestling since Rock brought me back. I don't really have anyone else on this roster right now that has that level of emotional attachment. I don't think anyone is even really close right now. I still enjoy the funny heels but when you catch that one face that you connect with, it's just better to me than the funny heel moments...especially when that face goes on a run like DB did.

The man should go into the Hall of Fame this year. I know it's Sting's year but DB deserves it and it would be a crying shame to have him retire like that and not put him in now but make him wait.

On the day of the Rumble or the week of, Bryan went to Pittsburgh(?) for the sake of doing promotions for an auto show. There was word he was also getting more tests done while there.
He just did the appearance thing in Pittsburgh. The tests were done in New York, which is where Dr. James Thompson and his company (who work on these new tests) are based.

As a HUGE Sting fan, I'm failing to see how putting him in, in the same year as Sting, would be a detriment to eithers respective careers.

However, I guess because WWE announced Sting as the Headliner, I can see why DB fans would believe that with his career (what he accomplished out of the WWE, and what he accomplished in his short time IN the WWE), that he (DB) would be deserving of a Headliner spot.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Roid rage happens, but there is no way steroids drove a person to do such things. I believe his brain was so messed up that he lost all concept of reality.

Btw, the diving headbutt is a dreadful move and nobody should ever use it.

Harley Race (innovater)- fell off a cliff physically at a relatively young age. Regretted ever inventing the move.

Dynamite Kid- fell off a cliff physically at a young age. He's spent most of his adult life confined to a wheelchair because his neck and back are so ****ed up.

Chris Benoit- had a terrible neck and his brain injuries contributed to the horrific incident in which he ended his and his loved ones' lives.

Bryan- bad neck and has to retire due to concussions at 34.

It's possibly the most dangerous move ever and it hasn't been banned in WWE. I strongly believe that it should be banned.

Agreed completely. After all the bad history that move has, I absolutely cringe every single time I see it performed.

Benoit isn't the only case of this as well. There is enough evidence, both scientifically, and in actual results that the degeneration of the brain from concussions can ruin and change a person. I don't believe the Benoit who did those acts was the same man that was friends with so many stars, who started that family.

If he lived he still would of deserved full punishment and to face the consequences, but it shows we do need to continue to learn more and understand what multiple concussions does to the brain to prevent things like that from happening again.

Titus vs Vince at WM

Just saw that now and couldn't tell who it was initially. Looked a bit weird, but apparently Titus likes to mess with Vince and has the leeway to do so.

I was surprised the headbutt wasn't banned the moment Benoit did what he did.

That move is no good. You ban Owens from doing the piledriver and Rollins from the curbstomp, but yet the headbutt, which actually has a track record of screwing up careers isn't?

I imagine that'll be the last we see of it.

So sad :( Thank you Daniel. I was so sad when Edge had to retire (my favourite Wrestler) I know the feels many Bryan fans are feeling. He really did have an amazing career in WWE, he won every championship and has one of the best WM's a wrestler can have.

Chris Benoit had the brain of an 80-year-old alzheimers patient.

I get turning the Dudleys and I saw that coming from a mile away, but why not do that during the match instead of jobbing out your tag champs yet again?

Dudleys vs Usos leaving New Day for Enzo/Cass?

Also the K-Kwik/Goldust stuff is a carbon copy of Booker T and Goldust. Only Goldy didn't need Randy Orton to electrocute him to get the stutter.

I thought Titus and Stardust could have been a good booker/goldust remake, guess they'll just do it with goldust himself
