I got my hopes too high I guess,

still a 1st and maybe a conditional 3rd is still a good return for a cap dump we already got a 1st for,

nothing to do with the Lindholm haul tho, so why didn't we wait?

The three seasons prior to this, Monahan missed a combined 106 games.

There is a chance we could've got more closer to the deadline, but the smart move is trading him now and not take the risk of him getting hurt again.

Y'all realize we can trade the 1st for a prospect/player? It's just another good asset in the bag. Good deal for both sides I think.

Better to get a 1st than a prospect.
There was 0 chance the jets were going to give up one of their high end prospects (Lambert, Mcgroarty) for a rental

Guessing they were first to offer a guaranteed 1st. With Monahan's injury history, it's probably safe to go for it than get nothing

I just realized something, trading him to Winnipeg is a 200iq move. There's 0 chance he re-signs there in the summer, then Hughes can re-sign him in the summer so we can trade him for a third 1st round pick next trade deadline.

We're gonna milk infinite 1sts out of Monahan's teets.
I think we might be interested in signing him for two years.
