Losing to both the Ducks and Sharks in regulation on the same trip, both on late regulation goals is definitely worthy of a Stan Fischler rant tweet, lambasting us for losing to HUMPTY teams.
What the heck does this mean?Luckily this is a fake concept that doesn’t mean anything
After the "eat another donut" incident in the 1988 playoffs, the next couple years were not easy times for us. Vindictive bunch.would not be surprised if it was from the candidness postgame of the coach on the Necas call combined with Noesen saying "idk what goaltender interference is anymore"
After last season I would of been content for the 24-25 season just to make the playoffs and see what happens. After the level of play we saw before this 4 game skid it would disappointing to just be a one and done this year. Top 6 and the D play was bound to cool off a bit and this is where the bottom 6 lack of scoring hurts the most.
They have been crappy but it was kind of cruel they didn’t get at least 2 points total from those 2 games.Losing to both the Ducks and Sharks in regulation on the same trip, both on late regulation goals is definitely worthy of a Stan Fischler rant tweet, lambasting us for losing to HUMPTY teams.
We're probably okay overall, we're still in the playoffs by A LOT, as I keep saying, every team in the East that's over NHL 500 currently occupies a playoff spot. That could change with tonight if one of the seemingly 16 teams in the East who are NHL 500 get a win, but it's been that way for the better part of the last 6 weeks. And Pittsburgh raced all the way back to NHL 500 to still not be able to break it. The Flyers and Columbus have both been chasing 500 for a while and can't get over it.They had this same stupid lull in 22/23, I'm not totally worried in the long run. The issues they have now they've had the WHOLE year if you've been seriously watching. I don't think the Canes also broke them. They just acted stupid on this trip and thought they could waltz over these teams by playing at 50%

They will absolutely never ever ever start OT without Nico if he is dressed. Not a chance. Now Nico might be a FOGO, but you cannot start OT with Jack Hughes in the dot.
Nico has to start because of the faceoff
Like I said very cruel lolThey only got 2 pts against them across 4 games lol
Sharks would've probably went Wennberg/Celebrini + a D. Could've easily tossed out Lazar in that situation like they did with McLeod when he was still on the roster. Regardless, the argument that Nico couldn't play the last shift in regulation to be saved for OT is stupid. You play for OT like that with players/lines and you end up with the result you did today.
Honestly, today's game should have been over way earlier. They have been crappy but it was kind of cruel they didn’t get at least 2 points total from those 2 games.
Yes, this team can absolutely, without any doubt, make a run. Not a single team in the east looks unbeatable. End of story. What the heck does this mean?
If you're a betting man, do those look like factoids that give you confidence that this team can make a long run?
Yes yes there are examples of teams that have done some really poor things in the regular season that went on to have a lot of playoff success. There are exceptions to everything.
Glad we are paying Tatar over a million bucks to play 9 mins a night. Change up the lines at this point.

Going by Hockeyviz’s first round matchup probabilities going into today the odds at winning the division we’re about 24% today’s results probably brings down to the 18-20% range. We're probably okay overall, we're still in the playoffs by A LOT, as I keep saying, every team in the East that's over NHL 500 currently occupies a playoff spot. But if anything, this probably is gonna torpedo our dreams of potentially winning the division. And depending on what the Canes do we're probably battling for our lives for second place and that home ice.
I know Bastian and Lazar were good today but you just can't play them that late in the third if you're Keefe. His game management with lines is pretty dog shit and was one of the things Leafs fans were probably right about with him.
For some reason Tatar has fallen out of favor and it even looked like he was gonna be scratched for Dowling from yesterday's practice lines.Glad we are paying Tatar over a million bucks to play 9 mins a night. Change up the lines at this point.

I definitely would have put a different line there that is much better at puck management and better on the boards, Some mix of Nico or palat OR someone fast to cover any neutral zone skateout (Bratt/jack)
I know they "planning" for OT but if you don't get there it don't matter.
