Those numbers are just numbers. Nothing more. Rielly is skating and collecting points in the regular season. Improving his numbers. Comes playoff time and he is absolutely useless. Not good offensively vs tight defense, below average defensively.

TJ skill set is limited and he focuses on the D side of the game, over an 80 game season, Rielly is going to win u a lot more games with his ability to be very offensive with decent defense ... Rielly is by far the better dman ... imo

By far? TJ is easily the better defender, he may not drive offence or skate as smooth as Reilly but I think those two are a lot closer in comparison than you think.

I tend to favor defencemen that can play defence vs defenders that are elite point getters, I'm stuck in my old ways I guess. The year Subban won the Norris, that was a gross example of how there is a huge bias towards offence when awarding the Norris. I'd be happy if they had a Bobby Orr award that gave the trophy to the best offensive defender and then the Norris who was given to the best all around defender.

What leads you to think that? What collection of evidence do you have that is quantifiably in contrast with the prevailing consensus of Rielly.
I've seen specious comments that he is a giveaway king and offhand comments like your own that states he isnt good offensively against a tight defense. Who is?
How many giveaways too many per 60 is rielly giving up. How is his scoring chances diminishing relative to his peers when faced with a tight defense?

And more importantly, where are your posts that compliment any leaf player. You seem to have been conspicuously absent during the leafs winning streak.

He can literally fly ... people get infatuated with his pure speed ... and our defense has royally sucked here since 93 until this season so people see hope ... what this season has proven to me is even with a very good defender Rielly still lacks da hands to finish goals and he still gets running around both in his own end and getting caught up ice way too much ... if he popped 30 per year then maybe I could live with it but bottom line his hands really are average at best and his shot is so weak of power that he can't convert great passes even from Mitch ... what always surprised me about him from first time I saw him skate at camp live a few years ago and what people who go up against him have told me is he is very weak physically ... he is just not a strong guy in general but a pure amazing skater no doubt

This is horseshit. He was top 10 in 8 different categories in his combine test among his draft class.

I've seen enough meaningless Leaf victories over the years. I want playoff success. Nothing less.

What's Rielly's worth I got many years ago. When he played in the WC. Team Canada had meh defense that year. And still coaches did not trust him in key situations.

He is fastest man in almost every game he plays and he is unquestionably a true leader of team/men ... we have to play to his strengths ... i hope we can resign him around 5.5-6M per ... but i fear he will get much more in UFA ... it is a tough one but for me if it comes right down to it I would sign Zach 1st and then hope it works for Mo ... it is what it is ... but regardless in my mind da issue is da overpay for Mitch which has caused this CAP problem for team ... JT and Matty were getting what they got in market no matter what ... and we all knew JT would slow down well some of us did and guess what like i have said for some time now in 2022/3 he will become a LW
