Hard to do anything there against Kimbrel who was throwing gas. Unless you are Judge.

Gleyber hasn't been the same since returning from injury but you can't pinch hit for him there. It's not like Walker is a world beater.
You absolutely pinch hit there. You put the veteran lefty bat who has been good for us from that side of the plate in there. You put in the experience. Bad non decision.

Gleybe was awful. Consider Walker for Game 2.

Andujar looked lost up there also.

Stanton looks at three pitches and strikes out with bases loaded and no out. Horribly bad. He can take some
Of the blame from Happ

They had their chances and blew it.

This game still falls on Happ’s shoulders. He was terrible.

They dont win tomorrow and this series is over. Goodbye season.

It shouldn't have come to that. They had a million opportunities against the soft underbelly of their bullpen and choked.

Agree.

What we need to do is knockout their starter in 2nd, 3rd or even 4th inning. That buys us time between their SP and Kimbrel.

Stanton, Andujar, and Torres look totally overwhelmed by this. Not a good sign.
Stanton is not the kind of player that you win with in the postseason. He's not a good hitter. He spent good parts of the year as an automatic out. Andujar and Torres are rookies so they get a pass from me. They will improve with experience.

Calling to bench Torres is bat shit crazy considering how good he is at everything. If anything, Andujar is the one that should be benched since our infield becomes a massive blackhole whenever he's out there. He delays so much in his throws that he gives this rattled by the pressure vibe (or he's that bad of a fielder).

Trading for his contract will be a mistake.

Do me a favor and quote me next time.

Whats more bat shit crazy is you thinking Torres has a good game at the plate. He had anything but that. He was putrid with the worst AB of the game swinging at a first pitch breaking ball out of the zone after 4 straight balls to Sanchez in a spot where they couldve come back. He shouldve easily walked there. He shouldve only been looking fast ball middle inner half if he wanted to be aggressive. He was miserable up there.

Andujar was bad too. No excuses for him either.

True statements.

Not sure we're going to have time against this team, though.

Win tomorrow and Boston is in all sorts of trouble.

Imagine their pen trying to piece together 9 (or more) outs at the stadium.

All we needed was a split. Should have had the game today but they still have a pretty good chance at getting at least 1.

Thames and Rosthchild can take a hike after this sesson. Our Starters are so inconsistent. Our hitters have no gameplann. No situational hitting. No two strike approach

memba when they went down 0-2 to the team that just made it to the WS

Didn't really think it was an over-matched Andujar and Torres tonight, hell Andujar saw 20 pitches tonight.

Go back to hitting dingers, and not trying to manufacture runs by getting a million singles and walks to scores 3 runs.

Doesn't often work against the kind of quality pitching that you face in the postseason.
