Doesn't often work against the kind of quality pitching that you face in the postseason.

Your not going to knock out elite starters by stringing together singles. Astros bombed Kluber today with homers, Braves and Rockies can't score, hell the Brewers have left a million guys on base trying to string together hits, yes, eventually one or two guys were going to get a hit.

More times than not your not going to have some big inning vs the likes of Kershaw, Sale and Verlander.

It's called manufacturing runs. Drawing walks, bunting, stealing bases, moving runners over, cutting down your swing when you have two strikes. The Astros and Red Sox excel at these things. We are terrible at them.

You can by working the count. Gotta force the pitcher to throw 20-25 pitches per inning. Can't go swinging on the first pitch and grounding out.

Bostons bullpen is awful. Really really bad. I don’t know how they won 108 games with it.

Yankees really just have to keep it close through 6 and exploit them after that.

Yeah we really racked up their bullpen last night
Just because the Yankees did horribly against Boston's BP last night doesn't mean Boston's BP isn't horrible.

It is horrible. It's just that the Yankees decided to pull horrible AB's against it.

That Torres AB in particular.

5 hits and 3 walks against their pen last night (3.2 innings). Only scored 2 runs however. Their pen is crap but we need to do a better job bringing them in.

On the flip side our pen threw 6 scoreless frames.

Cole is better than anyone on our staff but Cashman chose to acquire another strikeout prone power hitter instead. He's done very well recently but this was a huge mistake.
