So...Vegas 2017-2018?What if the Rangers pull a Rays and are semi-competitive with a garbage roster for no particular reason?

Yeah you get a hot pitcher and he wins a few games and maybe even a series on his own. I guess you can say the same for a goalie, but I don't know, it does seem easier in baseball. Or you get a couple hot pitchers and someone does something like Danny Murphy and you're in the WS.I think it's easier to pull off a 'miracle' in baseball than it is hockey. Baseball is weird like that.
The Mystery of Flushing is that the Mets’ hitters fare far worse on balls in play at home than they do on the road. Not one year. Not the occasional year. Not by a little bit.
Every stinking year.
By a lot.
This year the Mets are hitting .305 when they put the ball in play on the road. That makes them the fifth best team in all of baseball in that regard. If they hit anywhere close to that at home, they might have been a wild card contender.
But, no. When they play at home, The Mystery of Flushing drags that average down 43 points to .262—making them the worst such hitting team in baseball, and the second worst in the past 27 years. The average MLB team this year is +5 at home.

In the playoffs, yes.I think it's easier to pull off a 'miracle' in baseball than it is hockey. Baseball is weird like that.

BABIP for the Mets in splits.
As was said in pregame and during the game-they pushed Severino and Tanaka both back to line them up for both Sox series.Boone just tossed this one away for "rest" or whatever.
1) The last thing we should be doing is lining Severino up against that lineup right nowAs was said in pregame and during the game-they pushed Severino and Tanaka both back to line them up for both Sox series.
1-just repeating what was said, not that i agree with it.....2-see #11) The last thing we should be doing is lining Severino up against that lineup right now
2) The Red Sox games really don't matter any more than this one did. Oakland is our competition.
The Rangers being toxic briefly distracted me from how stupid and pointless this Sonny Gray start was.
The only pitcher to ever win the CYA with a losing record was a reliever. But you'd think a pitcher who does something not even Cy Young did would win his award.Legit lol’d at the ESPN headline: “deGrom sets MLB record, still takes loss”
That sums up this season perfectly.
