This season is slipping away. They hit a few bullets tonight but they also missed a lot of hittable pitches throughout the night. That is the disappointing part.

I just dont like this teams hitting approach as whole. The same swing is taken in a 2 strike count as in a no strike count. Its the coaches job to step in make changes and that isnt happening whether it is Boone, Thames or one of the other coaches.

Were gona end up playing in Oakland. Good teams beat bad teams in this league. Oakland goes and takes care of business with Baltimore. Boston does it all season. We have the talent and personnel here even with all the injuries. Those teams have dealt with injuries. Starting to think Boone isnt the guy for this job. He does not have the experience.

Boone is an abysmal manager. Hope this experiment ends before the window closes.

If they miss the playoffs this year he is gone for sure. You cannot mess around with what you have here. There is too much on the line. Before you know it guys like Judge and Sanchez and so on will be 28, 29. I know that is not old but you want to capitalize early and get one championship out of the way.

Even if they make the WC and lose, he probably should still be gone. Two key young players significantly regressed under him and his staff in Sanchez and Bird. Two key pieces. No corrections have been made with these two. Same struggles all year. Sanchez doesn’t know what seeing a pitch deep and hitting the ball the other way is. Bird same exact problem while also swining under every fastball it seems.

The Yankees saw something in Boone they liked despite his lack of managerial experience. This is a long process. Even if we are eliminated in WC game Boone isn't going anywhere.

Darko..sure they may have saw “something” they liked...but it is also possible they were wrong.

With all the injuries and such we have been dealing with for weeks, rotation issues and such...we are still 30+ games over .500.If it wasnt for the Sox we would be running away with the division.Sure Boone has made some mistakes, show me a rookie manager who hasnt

Bingo.

It's definitely possible. Can't call for someone's head in their managerial debut season. Needs a long leash. It'd be a bad look if Boone is fired after this season.

Stop referencing the Yankees record. Really tired of hearing it. This Quality of this League is so skewed this year. The disparity between the top teams and the bad teams is so significant. The American League is a joke. There are 5 quality teams. In the National League there are at least 8. That is signiciant. If the Yankees were in the NL they would not be 30 games over .500. So dont use their record as the benchmark to say well Boone has done a good job. He hasn’t. I dont wana hear about the injuries. Other contenders have had injuries. But it is the mentality of those teams that have made them fight through. And that starts with the manager.

Boone is SOFT and this team is SOFT mentally. Sanchez SOFT. He is even worse defensively this year. Just nonchalant in everything he does. Bird SOFT. Gray SOFT. Multiple slumps throughout the year from the lineup. Only Andujar has been consistent. Because you know what, hey its ok if they fail. Its ok if they fail many times. There is zero accountability because they have a “Manager” who knows the game, but has never coached to knows when he has the flip the switch/script and start holding these guys accountable with tough talks instead of putting his arm around these guys. These are kids. They arent seasoned vets. They need to be beat up by the coach once in awhile to keep them in check. Instead they are completely COMFORTABLE.

Boone will ultimately be judged on how next month goes.

His pitching coach should be axed though. Guy is literally just collecting a check at this point.

What's happened to Severino is inexcusable, and I suspect that some of the same old bullpen usage has a lot to do with Rothschild as well.

Makes me all tingly. Guy could have been something amazing. I mean he was, for a period of time. Not long enough, though.

I don't have spinal stenosis, however I do have something called akylosing spondylitis which is in a fairly advanced form given my age. I can absolutely relate to what he's going through, as I live with pain and a growing degree of disability every day as my disease has ravaged my hips and now is invading my back and neck (the vertebrae). This hits extremely close to home and just makes me really, really sad.
