Yep, that's it, because after his DFAs both times he elected free agency and re-signed with the team. Meaning they actively chose to retain him. That was one of the things the Mets struggled with early, was none of the guys they wanted to hold onto had options. So they kept crap around just to avoid having to DFA anyone.
