Eickhoff sucks, but I feel like his DFAs were just paper moves so that the Mets could call up fresh arms for the eleventy billion doubleheaders they’ve had this summer.
Yep, that's it, because after his DFAs both times he elected free agency and re-signed with the team. Meaning they actively chose to retain him. That was one of the things the Mets struggled with early, was none of the guys they wanted to hold onto had options. So they kept crap around just to avoid having to DFA anyone. Eventually it was unavoidable.

Not sure if I post this in NYC thread or here but wondering if McFaddens is still open at Citi Field? I've heard from a few that it shut down. If so that's a bummer. Heading out to the game tomorrow and definitely want to get a few pregame beers / food. Planning to get there around 4 30ish with a few buds. Haven't been to a game in about 3 years.

Yanks traded Wilson and Cessa, that seems strange? Wilson is whatever, but Cessa has been real solid, and the pen has been rough last few weeks.

I’m surprised they are going to buy when they really only have a shot at the 5 seed, seems really risky.

Hopefully its for people they're willing to sign (Story?), or already signed for next year (Gallo?). etc. I just dont want to "rent"

Probably absolutely nothing to this other than it being a blowout…BUT here is how you dont sleep a whole night now

I mean he's a trade chip most likely so you dont want to lose him in a blow out, but yeah not sure this coincides, but it wouldn't shock me either.

I mean they are what they are at this point so far no denying that but due to the 2nd wild card they are only 3 games back (could be 2.5 after tonight) and its the As and Mariners they have to catch. Its actually very doable, but I just dont want to "rent" if we can help it.

I am so blah about this team. I havent been this disappointed in a Yankees roster in several years when you consider the expectations at the start of the year. There are so many holes with this team. I cant stand Cashman and Boone.

But what you said is the problem, they may be only 2.5 GB of the 2nd WC spot after tonight. You get into the WC game with Cole starting it you have a great shot to get to the ALDS and everything changes.

Do I expect both? nope, but Gallo and Story would change the outlook of this team (especially if they could trade Voit in one of the deals), move Gleyber to 2B, Story at SS, DJ at 1st base and you have a competent defensive IF, and Gallo is a hell of a defensive OF.. Unlikely, but it would completely change the team

If they got both that would absolutely be a monster change to the makeup of the team.

I would almost consider Story in CF as been rumored just because Odor has been solid and allows for another lefty bat in the lineup.

2.5 Seattle and Oakland both lost and yes the decimal is needed it’s not a typo even tho it feels like it LOL

Get me Story and Blackmon and trade Voit, some prospects, and see if you can work some voodoo and get someone to take Stanton and Hicks off your hands and im happy.Unrealistic,i know..but a man can dream

I'm not sure how much better Mariners fans feel about the trade now.

Possibly. Kelenec hasn't exactly been tearing it up with his .102 BA over his first 120 AB's of his MLB career. But still I'd like to ring Brodie's neck for that one as Kelenec will eventually figure it out

Bottom line is Diaz is the new version of Armando Benitez who if you recall was mostly great for us however when he imploded, he imploded in grandios spectacular fashion...lol

I'd like to give Diaz a chance to blow playoff games for the Mets before labeling him like that.
