Four guys with modest upside. Nothing particularly noteworthy in the package.
I know he is coming back from a second TJ surgery and has had some other things, too, but I'd have guessed he'd fetch a little more. I assume Pittsburgh preferred four B/C level guys to two B-level guys or whatever. Or, maybe other teams just weren't that interested.
Anyway, seems like a good gamble for NYY.
I like it. Its certainly a big risk, but I like it.Cashman going all in on the high risk/reward rotation.
Yeah. The Mets are banking on that two of the three of Peterson, Lucchesi, and Matz can pitch like they have in the past. The Yankees are hoping Kluber isn't finished and that Taillon after two TJs and a total revamp of his mechanics is still good.Cashman going all in on the high risk/reward rotation.
Especially when he's predicted only to get around $2.5MM in arbitration and then is controllable for 2 more season after this one i believe.
Lastings Milledge
Good riddanceOttavino dealt to Boston with a prospect for a player to be named later or cash. Yankees are only retaining $850K of the $9MM owed.
Apparently not....Will anyone get in the HoF this year (excluding players who were voted in last year)?
...Buddy, you don't even have the numbers to get into the HoF anyway
Yeah, more WAR than Joe DiMaggio and Brooks Robinson is not enough for a pitcher to get in the Hall of Fame.[TBODY] [/TBODY]

Really what is the rush for him? The market has opened up a bit with teams starting to spend some money now, why wouldn't he wait and see if he can land a bigger contract. He's the best FA pitcher out there, he doesn't need to rush, he is going to get his money...What is Bauer waiting for?
If the Mets made an offer weeks ago then what is the problem or is Bauer the problem? When do the Mets pull the deal back?

I don't understand this response. I responded to your post asking why bauer is taking so long to accept the mets offer and you replied with a tangent about why you dont want him...He might be the best FA pitcher out there yet i see him as a huge risk in the Ny market. I hope the Mets pull the offer back. Good pitcher and was also hated by his teammates, he had issues with fans, managers, throws a ball over CF fence and guaranteed something else is going to happen. Why take the risk?
