Wish we had an Altuve on our team.Cashman better do something about catcher,1st base and our rotation or we are always going to fall short to this team

Adding pitching won't do shit unless the bats stop shitting the bed year after year after year in October.

Gone:
Sanchez
Andujar
Gardner
Gregorious
Encarnacion to the Sun

In:
??? top of the rotation ace
??? passable 1B
??? Backup catcher

The Yankees don't need much, but they need to cut A LOT OF dead weight and redundant parts to get over Houston.

Go out and get a Scherzer-like pitcher, a 1B that can draw out long AB's and put the ball in play and I think the Yankees can beat Houston next year.

You can get away with a bullpen game when you have elite starting pitching.

Hard to trust Cashman finding it this winter.

Even more frustrating the Red Sox took 4 straight from this team in last years ALCS.

Strasburg is probably opting out too.

Something is still definitely funny in Houston with pitchers overperforming. Cole was always good but never this good. Verlander we've been through ad nauseum.

I think he stays if the Nats come up short.

Only was using Scherzer as an example because there was chatter the Nats would consider trading him this past summer. The only way Scherzer and Strats are both on the team next year is if the Nats lose the WS.

You were anti Cole.

IIRC you were anti Yellich too.

A few of us wanted both of those guys.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. I was anti-Cole if we had to give up Torres. I wanted Yelich and I have been one of the most vocal anti- Stanton people on this board. I also look at Gray's stats and noticed that he was heavily dependent on Oakland's cavernous ballpark and he was terrible against the Red Sox in his career. That alone should have been a deal breaker.
