Cal Ripken, Bert Blylevin, and Carl Yastrzemski could also be considered compilers but I didn't include them because they compiled 90+ WAR's.

Smoltz had an outstanding career but he broke 6.0 WAR in a season once.
This thread in particular has always offered huge support to Mike Mussina's case, but if we're being honest, he was never spectacular either.
He was just very good for two decades, which is spectacular in its own way.

That doesn't make him not a compiler. You're equating compiler with not a HOFer which couldn't be further from the truth.Yaz is a first ballot HoFer with 95% of the vote!, has a higher WAR than Ripken, Beltre, and Clemente, over 3400 hits, and won the Triple Crown.
Although, Yaz is borderline as a compiler because he had two seasons where he was absolutely demonstrative.
