The Mets won’t trade Wheeler to the Yankees regardless of the haul they would get back, I have no doubts about that.
@Bob Richards you deleted that post reallll quick.
Yea I mean i really would not look at WAR as the barometer for acquiring a pitcher in that group, however, both Stroman and Bauer are ahead of Wheeler.
I am looking that the other stats and underlying numbers and overall they are just not that impressive. Certainly not enough to get in a bidding war over. His ERA has always been up and down which is a reflection of his career really.
I would rather put my chips in the middle on Bauer, Stroman, and even MadBum despite his dip.
I deleted it because I realized I didn’t really want to get into it but I stand by what I said. He’s having a way better season than his ERA indicates. Like most Mets pitchers, his FIP is noticeably lower because this teams defense is so bad.
You can prefer the other guys and that’s cool I’m not saying otherwise.

Since the new server, ya.Wait, we can delete our own posts?
...how? I don’t see the option. Is it only for sponsors?Since the new server, ya.
Should be right next to edit. I'm a former mod so maybe it's a perk....how? I don’t see the option. Is it only for sponsors?
Yep, the famous Yankee tax. They will ask for Gleyber no doubt. The Mets won’t trade Wheeler to the Yankees regardless of the haul they would get back, I have no doubts about that.
The Yankees need to go after bigger fish than the Wheelers and Stromans of the world. We tried that with Sonny Gray and it didn't work out too well. Cashman can't make that mistake again.
Bumgarner and Bauer are the obvious ones.Must be a perk, I definitely don't have any delete option.
Who are the bigger fish that are somewhat readily available?
Stroman alternates good years with bad years. He also has no track record in the postseason.Stroman is good and at the very least, we know he can pitch in the division.
I expect that they'll end up with him or Bumgarner. Bauer probably stays in Cleveland
Thats not his fault though.Stroman alternates good years with bad years. He also has no track record in the postseason.

I hear you but I'd rather go down swinging for the fences if that makes any sense. We settled for Gray when Verlander was available and suffered for it. Stroman's career can't hold a candle to MadBum.Only one of them is readily available.
Bauer is wait and see, but the Indians are in the hunt for that division and its a tough sell to move him when thats the case.
Bumgarner would probably be my choice based on price/history but you'd be taking a pretty big risk assuming that he can recapture the magic. It may be as simple as getting out of a ****ty situation, but there are other red flags there that can't be ignored.
The same could have been said about Verlander before he went to Houston and he was much older than MadBum.Bumgarner has declined over recent years and you'd be paying more for pedigree. Yeah he's had all-time playoff performances but I aint baking on him repeating that at this point at Yankee stadium with the pitcher he is today.
And the Cleveland Indians are currently in a playoff spot, why are they trading their best pitcher?
