I say he's "cooled off"....Vladdy still has 20 bombs heading into his 30 seconds of extra time. Still think Pete has a decent shot

Woo f***ing hoo....Pete baby...he did it despite his pitching partner.

What power he has...love it. Love the fact he was so into it and wanted to win it so badly.

Well at least the Mets won something this year...lol

Alonso's pitching partner almost ruined him. He wasn't really good.

What's funny is I had Alonso winning it prior to the derby starting, but thought my prediction sucked when he barely out homered Santana.

Last time a Met won the HR derby they won the world series. Of course I'm in an airport with CNN on every TV.

Last night reminded me of '08 when Josh Hamilton went off but Morneau ended up winning. I was actually there at Yankee Stadium for that, it was awesome. One of my favorite sports memories.

That was crazy. Hamilton was hitting 500 foot moon shots.

Stay the hell away from Wheeler. He screams mediocrity and disappointment. Cant seem to put it together. We dont need more uncertainty in our starting rotation.

Wheeler should be Option D after Bauer, MadBum, and Stroman in that order. That latter two can be flipped in some debate.

We need a front line starter. Wheeler is not that.

@Bob Richards you deleted that post reallll quick.

Yea I mean i really would not look at WAR as the barometer for acquiring a pitcher in that group, however, both Stroman and Bauer are ahead of Wheeler.

I am looking that the other stats and underlying numbers and overall they are just not that impressive. Certainly not enough to get in a bidding war over. His ERA has always been up and down which is a reflection of his career really.

I would rather put my chips in the middle on Bauer, Stroman, and even MadBum despite his dip.

I want no part of Wheeler.

Not only do I doubt his ability to pitch under pressure, his arm is also hanging on by a thread. He's going to be a great relief pitcher for someone down the line, but that doesn't really help us now.

I deleted it because I realized I didn’t really want to get into it but I stand by what I said. He’s having a way better season than his ERA indicates. Like most Mets pitchers, his FIP is noticeably lower because this teams defense is so bad.

You can prefer the other guys and that’s cool I’m not saying otherwise.
