Neither Betances or Chapman should have been in this game.

Betances has been fouled up mechanically for a while now. You have the depth in the bullpen to give him a few days off to get him sorted out, do it.

I have no idea whats wrong with Chapman, but using him in a non save situation just because you can was stupid. Others have speculated that he's probably not 100% from whatever he went on the DL with, I tend to agree. If you want to rest him up to get him healthy, now is the time to do it. Plus when was the last time he had a clean outing while throwing under 20 pitches?

And while it had no effect on the game, he got Robertson up twice to warm in the pen. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Girardi deems him unavailable tonight due to throwing too many pitches in the pen. I always felt like JG got wayyyyy to much hate from Yankee fans prior to this season, but he's been AV levels of bad this year.

Since the beginning of June, I feel like he has been doing more things to halt this team's progression than I've ever seen before. I'm generally a Girardi fan, but I think he's definitely had his share of issues this season.

Trade Dom Smith. Keep Duda as a placeholder for Pete Alonzo.

Alonso is so damn far off still and he's already 22 years old. He may not be up here til he's 25 at this rate. In a miracle situation I think mid season 2019 is earliest he comes. He will be in AA next year and maybe gets to AAA late.

Ok completely agree with all of this.

I also agree that with the depth they have now, they should be using Chapman and Betances a lot less until they get it figured it out. Let them come in during comfortable situations with good leads (although we havent had too many). We couldnt do this before Kahnle and DRob, because it wouldnt have been fair to Green and my fear would be ruining Green's confidence once he is overused.

He has to be smarter Girardi. He has certainly made AV-like mind boggling decisions over the past month+.

Its time for the Yanks to make a push.

I also saw a tweet the A's called up a RHP and 1B/OF. Interesting this happens after they scouted Trenton yesterday.

I don't think it's out of the question that, both in their primes, Frazier could end up a more effective overall player than Judge.

The kid just has silly talent.

People weren't kidding when they said Frazier's bat speed is even more insane than Judge's.

He could very well could be a more effective overall player Judge, which is scary to think.

Yankees have left field and right field set up for at least the next 10 years, barring health.

Going to be interesting to see if they end up signing Harper in 2019.

That outfield would be up there with the best ever :help::amazed:

listening to the Mariners feed when Judge hits his bomb and the announcer says-OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS

that was the call

Haha reminded of Rockies announcers couple years ago when Stanton hit one 490-odd feet at Coors.

I really hope we can get statcast data on Judge's HR. That was ****ing ridiculous. I'm honestly not sure if the 495 foot one or the one he just hit went farther.

Official word from Statcast is that they couldn't track the homerun.

Judge just broke statcast.

Yahoo box scores have it as 455 feet. Yeah sure lol.

455 feet is about the back wall of Safeco on the ground

In fact, home plate to the back wall at Safeco is 451. The height of the stadium is 269 feet. These are close estimates.

I took ten feet off because the ball did not physically leave the building.

441^2 + 259^2 = 261,562

Square root of 261,562 = 511.43

Now this is very rough because it's not exactly a triangle, but I think that's the neighborhood we're looking it.

The 455 measure from Safeco PR (which is where Yahoo got the measure) is literally from the plate to the back wall on the ground. The ball is in the air, so we need to get the pythagorean theorem involved.

Safeco down the left field line is 331 feet.
