Real ballsy making a wise crack at the thought of the yankees making the playoffs less than 24 hours after the big trade just because they are losing. Real ballsy.

Whole lotta baseball left.

Not too different from claiming the Yanks are a lock for the world series a month ago.

No ****.

Then again, I'm not the one who claimed that the rotation was fine and that the prospect of them not getting in was ridiculous.

Honestly, Montgomery getting bombed on early was about as apropos an outing as there could have been, their awesome pen isn't going to be a factor today.

They should have followed last years model, or at the very least only tried to add an ultra cheap rental or 2 instead of attempting to patch up an area of their game where they really didn't need the help, its not very difficult to stop pitching Clippard and to give Green and Warren more appearances.

I was just watching the Yankees play Toronto on Twitter. I thought oh this is something new. I heard Kay say Judge hit his 11th home run. I thought did he mean 11th in the last 2 months? Then I see the game they are showing on twitter is from May 2nd

Never did I say the rotation was "fine" so dont put words into my mouth to make yourself look better.

I have constantly repeated to you (although it is a complete waste of time) that there are 13 days left until the deadline. Almost two weeks. Cashman has already stated they will continue to be "careful buyers" in that they will make a move at the right price.

Complainers will always complain. People are scared to make moves. They would rather sit back and pray every prospect delivers. That or they somehow imagine in their head that a trade existed to get a SP for a prospect like Rutherford. When in reality the Yankees tried to make that trade for Quintana but the White Sox said no. They wanted Torres or Frazier to start. So Cashman decided lets go address another need of ours by getting two Top end relievers who are signed through next year, one of which you can control for the next three years. Complainers will always complain though.

Ellsbury is rancid moldy garbage

Duffey has a 4.80 ERA. Important part of the game so naturally Ellsbury takes a Fastball strike right down the D

Frazier gets Ellsbury-itis and takes Fastball strike three as well. Sweet.

Lets pack it up and head to Seattle

It may have not been those words exactly but..

I would like to know what is wrong with their rotation?

Tanaka has been much better and looks like a Number one again

Severino has made his way into the 2 slot still so young with a lot of talent.

Montgomerey will overtake CC at some point for the 3 spot and has been a calming presence.

CC has been great all year.

Sure sounds like you think everything is fine.

Not going to even bother addressing the rest of it especially after you accused me of putting words in your mouth and turn it around by doing the same thing

FWIW, I feel like this team is just as likely to win the division as they are to miss the playoffs entirely. I felt that way before the trades were made too.

Did I just read Todd Frazier is a "rich man's Chris Carter"...

Do you people watch baseball outside of the Yankees? My god that is an embarrassing comment.

Since the start of last season:

Carter: .217/.312/.475 102 wRC+. 49 HR in 852 PA

Frazier: .219/.312/.453 103 wRC+. 56 HR in 872 PA

ZiPS Rest of Season Projection:

Carter: .218/.311/.478 107 wRC+. 13 HR in 211 PA

Frazier:.233/.316/.445 101 wRC+. 13 HR in 272 PA.

They are basically the same but Frazier is better overall because he's a pretty good defensive 3B and Carter is a hugely below average defensive 1B.

I will save this and we will see how the "ZIPS" projection has worked out at the end of the season.

I will save this so at the end of the season we can make a definitive conclusion on a system based on the results of one player in 60 games.

Frazier is an infinitely better ball player than Carter. CWS is a dogpile.

I am feeling really good about this upcoming series against Seattle.

I think the trade has happened, the new guys have taken the flight to Seattle with the guys and have the time to really settle in with their new teammates. They will go full steam tonight with a full lineup of power.

Really dont know how the lineup shakes out but thinking,

Gardner CF
Castro 2B
Sanchez C
Judge RF
Holliday DH
Didi SS
T Frazier 3B
Headley/Cooper 1B
C Frazier LF

This series is huge for the Yankees as the mariners are 1.5 games behind the yanks for the last wildcard spot and the yanks just lost a series to a team that's now just half a game behind them. I don't see how the trade made such a big change to the team other then Clippard not being in the bp. Do you really think that all the yanks need to snap out of it is singing Kumbaya on a flight?

Spare me the sarcasm. One game has been played since the trade. One game. And it was a matinee game after finishing late at night. What change were you expecting to see in that time frame.

Lets be a little more realistic please.

I agree. Let's be realistic and realize that 1 relatively minor trade on its own isn't going to change the yankees season after flying together on an airplane. They're a better team than they showed the last 30 games but not as good a team as the first 60.

Really taking the Plane Ride comment to such great lengths.

The point was to lets give the trade more than 24 hours before saying its a damn failure.

They needed to improve the bullpen. They have the best bullpen now. They needed to improve 1B. Frazier can play both corner infield spots.
