I've not seen anyone say that about Rosario. He's top 10 on every list out there, top 5 on most, 1 on some. His strikeout numbers are not even high. He doesn't walk, but thats not really such a big deal, he's also pretty young. He's hitting like .325 counting the last two seasons. Not sure thats a problem.

I think the Smith concerns are opposite anything doing with BB's/K's. He's a 1B with fringy power, and his weight is kind of a problem. I know he's hit a few more HR's recently, but unless he can show he's a 20 HR in the ML type of player, I don't know if he'll be any more than average. Kind of hard to be more than an regular at 1B without plus power.

Rosario looked awful in those 2 ABs today in the futures game. He couldn't catch up at all to the fastball thrown by either guy. I wouldn't be concerned by 2 ABs but it's semi alarming to me how insanely late he was on about 6 fastballs he swung through

Yankees are at the moment where the Cubs were pre Jon Lester.. a bunch of young MLB ready bats (and more on the way), some young pitching that are still developing, the Cubs got Lester and the rest was history on their way to a world series. Yankees are in the same boat, whether at the trade deadline or in the off season, Cashman will address the SP.

I usually watch this game every year, didn't even care this year, DVR'ed it, and watched like 30 minutes before I got bored. I'm so burned out from the Mets. Done with this team and sport for the year.

I've still see many scouts concerned about both him and Rosario at the ML level saying their BB vs K ratio simply is not good enough for them to be legit ML hitters. Rosario has been highly hyped but there has certainly been a share of scouts who are still unsure if he's a legit 280-290 plus ML hitter.

You are reading scouting reports from 2-3 years ago when there were legit concerns about Rosario's bat.

It's an exhibition game where he probably tried to do too much. It really shouldn't be alarming at all.

I do think that there are some questions with the bat though. He beats too many balls into the ground for my liking but then again, so did Fransisco Lindor before he got to the majors.

Injury updates on Mets pitchers + Walker

So, Harvey lost a ton of muscle in his right shoulder. Probably couldn't build it all back after surgery and recovery. Wonder if it'll be better to have him piggyback with Noah/Wheeler. You can limit their innings, but have them for the remainder of the season.

Matt can strengthen his right shoulder all while pitching between 3-4 innings a game.

They mention Syndergaard coming back into the pen earlier than being a starter. No need for that. Fully recover and start when he comes back. No need to rush it to have him pitch 1 inning at a time.

Sounds like returns would appear in this order:

Harvey
Walker
Syndergaard
Gsellman

Pretty sure Harvey hasn't been healthy in any start since game 5 of the 2015 WS. He looked pretty good in spring training this year early on so maybe he was okay initially but this guy seriously needs to start letting the staff know when he's not 100%. This was 2 years in a row now where he clearly hid an injury for 2-3 months. Who knows had he not been pitching 88 mph in that start if he ever would have admitted something wasn't right. He's definitely the best Met since Robin Ventura at hiding injuries from the training staff

Sometimes the hardest thing to do in sports is win a championship you're supposed to win.

Judge just cruised to it. The last two rounds weren't even competitive.

Prophecy fulfilled and then some.

Question

Let's say Judge says "bye guys I'm going on vacation to Mars, see you in 2018" and doesn't play another game this season.

Is AL ROTY already over?

I think what was most impressive about Judge's HRD is his spray chart. Dude was hitting bombs everywhere. Absolutely dominant, 100% deserved, a bit of a clencher in round 1, but he did his job. Feel bad for Bour there, dude was insane round 1. But it shows how significant batting 2nd is.

Judge hit at least 3 Homeruns tonight where if anyone else hit them like he did tonight, they would be routine fly balls, just so much power.
