Why remove Tanaka now at only 72 pitches?
Thought the same thing. Totally totally disagree. Even with weather coming, since he is leading off the 6th let him bat, then let him start the bottom of the 6th until the rain delay comes. Only thing i can think of his Boone trying to get ahead now in case the game gets called

And the Tarp comes on the field

He does it so that Torres gets better at bats with a lead off on deck.
Fair enough. I still think the best hitters should be getting more at bats. Certainly more than pitchers imo.

It's not like Torres is a Brendan Ryan level of hitter.

Zack Wheeler is such a garbage f***ing player. I can't wait until he's off this team. I get so angry watching him pitch. What a waste of talent. I was thrilled when Harvey left. I'll be thrilled when Wheeler is gone. Then, we'll see if Matz turns into a f***ing pumpkin again, and maybe they can get rid of him. I don't care if that leaves them without a rotation, I just really dislike all of those guys. f*** it, put Wheeler in the pen. If his arm falls off, who cares? Put Gsellman or Lugo into the rotation.

This team in general is just horseshit. I haven't posted about them because there's been nothing to say. They're certainly not done, but they have probably 20 games to turn it around or they're f***ed, given the goddamn Braves decided now they're good again and Philly is doing what they're doing.

Doesn’t it hit him in his wallet all the same? Might be better for the team and playoff chances etc. but that’s probably the farthest thing from his mind when he chooses whether or not to appeal. $ and legacy are primary at that point. I would think that if he were innocent and had a valid reason for the diuretic he would specify and vigorously challenge the accusation. Instead he throws up a joke of a defense ‘ hey no actual PED was found in my system + Dominican doc gave it, no regulations down there’ when both excuses don’t actually address the real issue. It reeks of not wanting to admit it, but not having thought up a solid excuse either.

Part of legacy is playing more games. He's not playing for 4-6 weeks anyway. Let's say that's 35 games. That's almost half of his suspension. That's 35 more games he can make an impact on his legacy. It hits his wallet the same and he's not playing in the playoffs either way. However, if he felt he were innocent, he'd be fighting this tooth and nail. It's not about whether or not he's guilty, it's about being able to play more and perhaps make a case that he's that good and whatever he was doing didn't change how good of a player he is or whatever. I disagree and I do believe he'd been juicing for many years, but being able to play in 35 extra games gives him more of a chance to prove himself that he's HOF material, as i doubt he'll be playing much longer after his current contract expires.

I will sell the entire farm if it means getting another Dynasty.

And looking at the Yankees roster, selling the Farm might actually be the *best* use of assets.

McKinney, Florial, Estrada, Frazier... where are they even going to play? Unless they become Mike Trout 2.0, they arent bumping Andular/Torres/Judge/DiDi/Stanton.

We don't really have room for Frazier, today, when he'd be on the field on 25 MLB starting rosters right now.

Their best use might just be to pack for another Ace. You can't have too many pitchers, but too many fielders is an issue.

All valid points, but if the guy is still thinking of playing his way into the HOF then he’s fooling himself hard. At this stage, when the vast majority of players are playing clean (unlike the late 90’s and early 2000’s), if you get busted for PEDs it’s over for the Hall. If you played a decade or two ago then it’s a fairer playing field because the argument can be made that everyone was juiced.

There's something particularly striking about the Mets' budding "Once in a generation pitching staff" basically only lasting a couple of months in 2015.

I remember when they Beltran for Wheeler trade was announced. I felt the Giants got fleeced.

6 ERA for Wheeler. So unfairly treated.

Aaron Hicks is a career mediocre player.
Brett Gardner is 34
Yankees do not have Bryce Harper yet.

There is a spot for Clint Frazier

Gardner may be 34 but he’s still pacing for his usual 3.5-4.5 WAR. The dude is still a quality player.

Hicks, agreed. Plus, he can’t stay healthy.

Frazier is great, but I’d agree that he has more value to us as a trade chip.

The thing is I would only trade Frazier for an Ace type starter. Anything less is severely undervaluing how good he really is. He along another top prospect OR with two B prospects should be enough because I think he is that valuable. He would be a perfect asset for the Giants.

And the other thing behind it is, you can easily replace Frazier/Gardner depth next year with Harper. You spend the money because you have it. Go all in. And then in a year or two after that Florial replaces Hicks.
