Damn I still feel there is untapped potential in D'Arnaud. I would think he gets picked up asap.

Yup. It’s the injuries that killed him. He put together a couple nice stretches, and then always got hurt.

I remember Phillies fans being so mad at that trade bc he was their prospect and was traded for Halladay. They hated the fact he was coming back to the NL East.

Unfortunately I don’t there this is. He’s a 30 year old catcher who can neither play well or stay healthy. This is what he is.

The weird part is that the Mets inexplicably felt compelled to bring him back knowing this just to snuff him after 25 plate appearances.

Urshela is awesome, make him starting 3B until Andujar learns how to play even below-average MLB defense.

I think for the first time in my life I'm seeing a competent Yankee infield defense at all positions for the most part. It's nice to be routinely turning in double plays.

Really comical at this point with them dropping like flies...but Scran...errr Yankees, keep on keepin on.

I remember when the Mets were constantly dealing with injuries it was always on the training and med teams. Poor Ray Ramirez took the ax among others. Crazy what's going on with the yanks this year.

How did you all view Frazier when he finally got into the lineup? He certainly was taking advantage of his opportunity, but now that he's part of the wounded, what's his outlook going to be later? Think he did enough to warrant a chance for some regular PT when everyone else gets back or is he now a more valuable trade chip? Kid seems to be knocking on the door and then always has a setback...

Ideally when he gets back,he wins back the left field job and continues pounding the ball.Hicks in center,Frazier left,Judge in right...Gardner as the 4th outfielder and Stanton full time D.H.Thats what i would like to see.

In Yankees news:

LaMahieu and Urshela are day to day as MRI/X-Rays came back clean.

Chad Greene had a good appearance today down in AAA with 5K over two innings.

The Orioles are going to give up 5,000 HR this season.

They've obliterated the record for March/April and most allowed in a single month.

The Mets are at a very precarious part of their season. I know it's early but we saw what happened last year good (great) start, horrendous month, season over.

Yeah the Mets got through a really rough first 25-30 games. The schedule was rough, there was only one series with a bad team (Marlins). the rest were all first place teams, or the Braves/Nats. They came out of it .500. Which is fine. Not great, but ok.

If you told me that after April the Mets would have that schedule, and be last in the NL in ERA, be 14-14 and 2 games out of 1st I would have called you insane. But here we are.

May isn't nearly as bad of a schedule than April was. They need to do some damage now.

Warthen better help these guys get it together. He's been around forever but I doubt BVW feels any loyalty to him whatsoever.

Warthen is gone. It's Eiland now.

I'm not going to remotely blame you though b/c this team never fixes glaring issues and it's shocking Warthen isn't there still

Right, my bad. Totally forgot about that. Well, I know BVW did a lot of shuffling of the staff in the winter, so maybe he'll make a move with Eiland. Would also put Callaway on notice, you'd think (I'm not suggesting firing Callaway, by the way; he deserves at least this season).

Agreed.

Overall, the underlying numbers are a bit better than the results. They're giving up a ton of homers now, which I expect to level out. Mostly a product of playing on the road 60% of the season so far. They're 2nd in the NL in staff strikeouts, 12th in walks. The walks are killing them.

It's been the starters that have killed them mostly. Wheeler, Thor, DeGrom all around 5 ERA. Vargas terrible. Matz only one who has been good.

It's gotta get better from here.

I also worry that outside of Diaz, Lugo, and Wilson, the pen has been garbage. Familia has looked like shit, Gsellman is shit, and unfortunately that leaves us very thin.

Caminero has been good up in Syracuse. So has Corey Taylor. Villines in Bingo could be a good option.

They need to win all 6 against the Marlins. Cannot lose a game to them.

Have to go to Milwaukee and LA this month. 7 games against two of the best teams in the NL. Milwaukee rotation looks like Matz/Wheeler/Vargas. Pray they win one of those.

Losing last night hurt after coming back against the Reds. Especially looking at the pitching matchup tonight. Thor and deGrom need to get on track the next two games. Winning in spite of the two best players on the team not producing is the only saving grace the team has right now.

Nationals series need to be series wins too. That bullpen is so bad they have to take advantage of them again.
