Mets just took Matthew Allan, RHP with the 89th pick. He was a top prospect (Keith Law had him 11th, MLB had him 13th) that's committed to Florida and wants $4m to sign apparently.

They'll probably try to get Cespedes insurer to pay the kid directly.

What contract you you reckon he'll get?
I have been trying to follow the salary stipulations here with if being prorated. I was listening to siriusxm mlb network radio and I believe they were saying the yanks can sign him to $18-$20 million which would be prorated down to fit under the luxury tax.

Anyone is welcome to correct me on this.

Yep that's pretty much what the Yanks are sticking at and they don't want to budge. It's actually the prorated amount of the qualifying offer he turned down from the Astros this off season (hence the draft pick comp).

Problem for the Yanks is that Keuchel still wants multi years and is hoping a team will blink.

Who cares about his f***ing contract?

The Yankees have more money than Jesus f***ing Christ and have been decidedly surpassed by the Red Sox.

Let's f***ing go.

I think he signs for just 1 year $20MM. I dont see the Yankees committing to a long term deal and I dont think he takes a 2 or 3 year deal.

Anybody who's a fan of the Premier League knows how depressing those games in London will be.

London Stadium is such a f***ing barn that a chicken might attack James Paxton instead of an eagle.

Angel Hernandez set the tone for that inning missing a strike call literally right down the middle. He needs to be fired. Enough with him.

But even so, what a garbage performance from Tanaka. Completely lost it. Leaving pitches up to a crap Blue Jays team.

Get Brett Gardner the f*** out of the everyday lineup. Enough with the taking straight fastballs right down the f***ing middle. It gets more frustrating by the day that we brought him back. He needs to consider retirement.

What a MISERABLE AB by Torres. All we need is a base hit and this kid is swinging out of his shoes. When he is going to grow up? When he is going to realize who he is as a hitter? Do a damn job.

I'd give him 4 mill he wants. Arguably the best pitcher in the draft.
