Okay, it's New Years on the eastern seaboard.

Andujar with a prospect or two would.

If Moncada and Kopech could fetch Sale with term left, Andujar could do more.

You undervalue Andujar greatly.
I think Moncada at the time had more value due to his player projection. We can't really offer anyone like Kopech either.

Andujar is already one of the best pure hitters in the league and he's only played one season. He gets underrated because of his shoddy defense, which can always be improved. Is there a chance it doesn't? Yes, but guys that hit like him don't grow on trees.

That’s just projection. Andujar is proven product with term. There’s really no comparison.
It was reasonable projection at the time, Moncada was the best prospect in the game. The top 3 prospects in baseball (Vlad Jr, Tatis, Eloy) all have much higher trade value than Andujar.

Is 'pure-hitter' a code-name for players that can't draw walks?

'Shoddy' defense is an understatement - he was by far the worst defensive 3B in baseball (bottom 3 defense in baseball in fact). There is no evidence to suggest it will improve significantly.

No, they don’t. They’ve had ZERO success at the majors. Andujar was the AL ROY runner up.

So there’s no evidence to suggest that Andujar’s evidence will improve significantly, but there’s evidence that states it won’t improve?

Been reading it all over Twitter. It’s probably based from what Dan Clark said, but someone I follow has a source that’s broken a few things and that person had a DM conversation with someone connected and got re-affirmed that their source was correct.

Take it for what it’s worth, but the person I follow that posted this originally isn’t someone who often claims to have sources and so on.

I’m trying to stay level headed and keep a level of skepticism, but it’s definitely made me think something will be announced real soon. Between this, Machado following everyone in the Yankee organization on Instagram and all of the word going around from close friends and family of Machado saying he wants to be a Yankee, I think it’s gonna happen.

I've been convinced that he was going to end up here for a while now. He's probably (ok definitely) the top FA on their board and there is obvious strong mutual interest.

The deal laid out like that makes sense too.

Well, welcome aboard then.

Next season should be fun, although I think the Sox are still the better team, especially if we can't resign one of Britton or Robertson.

For sure. At the league minimum I think that's definitely a cool "f*** it why not" move

I would assume not. If Troy Tulowitzki in 2019 takes you out of the Machado sweepstakes then something's up lol

If they sign Machado, there is no excuse for Andujar seeing shifts at 3B. He should be moved to 1B full time.

Also would've preferred Jed Lowrie over Tulo for SS, but that may be getting a tad greedy.

His range is very poor. Not easy on improving your range tbh. Great arm.

Lowrie is a second baseman imo.
