Speculation: Mittlestadt on his way out from Colorado?

Mitts has been awful for Colorado lately, but the source is Dater. Guy’s a moron and his “scoop”s are baseless.

Is it possible he’s being shopped, yes. However it would take more than a Dater tweet for me to believe that.

Literally fell off a cliff. Something isn’t right with him. You don’t fall like he has without either some extreme mental/confidence issue, or an injury. Mittlestadt has always had issues playing under 100% too.

Heard over Xmas they were already ready to cash in their chips on him. He’s treading water down the depth chart now, with nothing coming to fix him.

What’s funny is, they probably should’ve just given JT Compher the $5 million and called it a day. At least if he wasn’t producing on the scoresheet, he contributes in other areas. Now they’re paying Mittlestadt more for nothing in return.

One other thing to keep in mind. They don’t have much to trade away this deadline. He’s likely what they’ll try to move in that regard. Problem is, teams are gonna want some answers before paying him $5m plus. Maybe someone who was “in on him” last year, has a deal they can make where the money isn’t such a question mark. We’ll see but fully expect he gets moved. It’s the return that’s just too hard to speculate on.

They have plenty to trade, especially for what needs they have.

Middlestadt replaces Johansen for one playoff, half a season and he's on the block? What's the play for Colorado, more speed?

Does he just move down a line, who's the Avs normal 3rd line center? Might be a way to add some depth, that O'Connor kid looks to be a bit of a sparkplug moving up the lineup.

I could see Granlund being a fit for Colorado at the deadline.
Granlund is slower than Mittelstadt.
