Speculation: Mittlestadt on his way out from Colorado?

Middlestadt is a depreciating asset and has negative trade value. The only saving grace is that he has two years at 5.75 remaining on his contract after the 2024-2025 season.

He's negative in ES for Corsi Rel and Fenwick Rel as a 2C on the Avalanche with a career low faceoff win pct of 41%. His contract is baffling.

I mean that player you’re describing was Buffalo’s top 5v5 point producer when they traded him last year and then elevated his game even more for Colorado down the stretch and into the playoffs. I don’t think anybody questions his contract. That was very well earned. We’re just questioning what the hell happened to him over the last 45-50 days or so lol.
