Is Matthews' drop in the playoffs (and particularly in the later games) because he suddenly forgot how to shoot, or because Marner disappears?
Feels like Matthews doesn't handle the competition of big moments particularly well, which impacts his ability to shoot, score and make little touch plays with the same accuracy as in lower stakes moments. You lose a split second here and there, you double clutch or you rush something and suddenly you're not effective. The double whammy with Marner is teams usually find a way to disconnect the two of them and there's no adjustment.
