Player Discussion Mitch Marner Part Infinity

So I guess for you, you're more feeling like a jilted lover because Marner is leaving the team, and don't actually care about his playoff performances. If you did, you would be trashing the rest of the team, who have put up worse numbers in the playoffs.

He's more a fashion guy than a hockey guy. He's like Austonflammation Matthews. He likes them when they wear a certain shirt, never mind what they actually do.

When Marner was still on the team, he was defending him in every thread crying.

I still can't believe this Marner super trashing is still going on.
Marner,Marner,Marner,it is all his fault good riddance.
From using made up or unsubstantiated stuff from the media to twisting stories around to fit whoevers narrative.

Marner was for sure part of the problem but only 1/5th of it.
The whole core 5 shoulder the blame and I cannot believe how the others seem to get off much lighter.

Marner deserves his 20% of the blame.

Mr 13 mil 70 goals has done jack shit also but gets off the hook because of injury, yeaj bullshit, that never stops any Panthers from producing and what about all the other years.
The team leader and Captain never shows us the way,25%.

Nylander gets tons of love but I can't figure out why.
Sure every playoff he has a couple of hilight reel rushes and goals but most of the time just the same old hit the brakes or flybys going behind the net with nothing out of it.
He has not come up big when the team needed it either and okay maybe at 7 mil but not 11 mil,20%

Tavares actually was always Tavares and not enough for a Captain but to quote a coach,he was just okay.
That doesn't work for 11 mil,15%.

I also wonder who the hate machine will get after next, because that will happen and make another player want out.

Lastly our beloved Morgan does try hard, shows he wants it but the amount of brain cramps in the playoffs is amazing.20%

Mitch has to go yes,it is best for him and his family and the fans who have a big hate on him as proven here.
It will not be easy replacing his output regular season but they should still make playoffs but unless the others start to show up it won't matter who they use the Mitch money on.

I also think Marner could pull a Kessel and do great with the right team and instead of heartless players like here follow hate to lose guys like Sid and Geno and instead of being the guy add to the guys.

In the end I blame all of them and their me attitudes and heartlessness but unlike most here cannot lay such a majority of blame on just Marner.

I promise you, if Matthews (or Nylander) was the one hitting free agency right now and was refusing to negotiate and was badmouthing the team claiming he was being disrespected, I'd be saying the same things about them. But Nylander and Matthews haven't disappeared in the last half of every single playoff series. They never acted like any criticism was some personal slight from a toxic fanbase.

And even still, I'd be pretty happy if the team moved on from either or both of them, too. They can go rot in Utah if they aren't willing to try in a game 7 here.

They have all disappeared in the playoffs. Nylander and Matthews sound like pissy babies every 2 weeks and disrespect the fans consistently. The ONLY reason you've changed your tune on Marner is because he's leaving. The team wants him back, and he'd be back if he wanted to be here too. Has nothing to do with these fake narratives you've made up. He's decided to not wear your favourite shirt anymore so now you've turned on him.

So you just stopped reading before the last 2 sentences where I said Matthews and Nylander can go too because they don't try in a game 7? Got it.
don't bother responding to that person, it's a waste of time lol

if they sees someone say anything about marner that isn't gushing compliments they goes full rabbid dog attack mode and doesn't see anything else you say

I’m fairly forgiving of his refusal to waive. He doesn’t want to do the organization any favours at his own inconvenience, he’s got the protection and we don’t have any choice as fans and watch it unfold.

I take exception at the smear campaign about how the organization, city, fanbase disrespected him which has been leaked out over the past few weeks. It’s an ugly breakup.
He wife was pregnant and expecting

Pretty much. Until Nylander or Matthews start negotiating through the media, and insulting the team too, they are okay. They both got player friendly contracts but without the drama.

The work you’ve done to try and diminish players like Mikko Rantanen, Brayden Point, Sebastian Aho and countless other players who make less money, have success in the playoffs in trying to establish Marner’s unassailable superiority has been exhaustive and exhausting and pointless.
I haven't diminished them or anybody else. You've just exaggerated their quality, by only looking at a small portion of relevant information, and improperly differentiating between team and individual performance. The only thing pointless is your anger at Marner, and the only thing exhausting is the work you've put in for years to diminish one of the best players on your own team.
All of this Marner maneuvering isn’t quiet at all. Dreger’s reporting of a long and drawn out league wide summer tour is Marner camp information. The grievances are Marner camp origin. Oh, it’s Treliving? It’s the city? It’s the captaincy? That’s all noise coming from the player trying to paint such a toxic picture.
There's no noise coming from the player or his camp. There's noise coming from the media and fans, as usual. Somehow, you're even trying to blame Marner for that.

There’s not much trashing. Most are saying the same as you. The issue is his fanboys acting like children.

I’m curious why you speak for people like Marner like you’re the press secretary.

One of the least enjoyable experiences of watching Marner over the years is having his impact exaggerated against consistently more successful players and why we’ve had to pay for premium for less and have fans cheer on the overpay like it’s the most prestigious thing in the world. It’s literally getting less for more and then having an entire cottage industry of pseudo analytics thrown back to explain why.

Marner will be gone soon and at least we don’t have to hear about all that.

The game 6/7 stats speak for themselves, Mitch has 1 goal/5 assists in 15 game 6s/7s.

The problem with the idea of Marner turning into Kessel is he has huge psychological warts as shown by his game 6/7 performances, the same thing could said to be an issue with Phil, he was still "fresh" going into Pittsburgh.

Look at Florida's core vs. ours money-wise. How can anyone defend him? The team comes after Mitch, not the other way around.

Yes, over the top breakup comments.
Like going to your lawyer on a contentious divorce.
He said, she said.

Isnt't the comment:

[Michael Augello] Mitch Marner: "We are looked upon as gods here, to be honest...."

I can’t wait till we have a summer long debate categorizing all the gods and how each of them have been treated to determine whether Marner feels he was adequately worshipped.

Yes, Mitch. Difference is a god might get it done in the playoffs every so often.

It's amazing how many people can read "We are looked upon as gods" and get it in their heads that he said "I'm a god", and then lament about how he could've been looked upon as a god on legends row if he stayed a Leaf.
