I think he will be asked what he really wants... behind closed doors. Treliving has to be honest with him too.I think he’ll be back and a new deal will depend on how next year goes. I can’t imagine him agreeing to a trade. He loves it here. I also can’t imagine anybody giving him 12-13 a year right now so he’s probably going to bet on himself next season.
The Leafs best bet would be to move him to a team he wants to go to and will give him the money and term he is looking for. He could still be successful in the right place but it has to be a place where there is little media and some big time players ahead of him.. where he can be the cherry on top of well put together cake.
